In this podcast we share a lot of music that we have featured on Music Mondays, and we talk about a bunch of our Discussion Wednesdays that have had a good response with you guys. We also let you guys know that we have job openings for transcribers, and that we are going to be starting a chapter by chapter analysis series and want you guys to join in! So, your homework is to read the first three chapters of the Hunger Games and email your thoughts, discussions, and ideas to [email protected] Our special host is Becka, who was one of the people who came up with the idea for the site! We talk about what we were doing when we came up with the idea for the site, and the awful situation with the restraunt waiter. We also explain that we really want to be better at getting more podcasts out and why we have been lacking lately.

I like the way the book starts. in the forest with Gale (Im Team Gale!!!!) its a nice start and it gets people wondering what the heck are they talking about. (IE: Run away from the reaping etc…)

I didn’t think I was going to try to be a transcriber, but I think I will now. I think the decision was made in my head when Kimmy said “you could be a staff member of Mockingjay.net.” That just sounded so cool to me.

I’m a recent convert to the Hunger Games series (haven’t even finished Catching Fire), but I’m already a big fan of the site and the podcast! So, kudos! =)
I really liked the discussion about the “soundtrack” for the book… though I did like your suggestions, personally I feel the tracklisting should be a bit more edgier… something that goes more with the whole dystopia concept…
In case you’re looking for new suggestions, I’d add something by 30 Seconds To Mars to your list… specially something from their new album. Their music is just perfect for the Hunger Games, and I don’t mean just the melodies… their lyrics fit so perfectly with the story, it’s scary!
Anyway… best of luck with the cast! I’d be sure to tune in for the next episode! =)

I’m excited about the chapter by chapter analysis. I had to order copies of the books because I didn’t have any with me! I’ve purchased them once already, but I gave them to my sister as a Christmas gift. I’m away at school and decided I needed my own.

I’m VERY happy that you’re doing a chapter-by-chapter. I finally can read the chapters, and listen in to what other’s have to think. It’s a great idea! I hope you do a chapter-by-chapter with Catching Fire as well!

This is one of the best sites I’ve been to and the hunger Games is the best series I’ve read, ever!
I own all the books(so far) and already pre-ordered the victors from scholastic!! rue’s lullaby made me cry 1st time i heard it, its so sweet!

I think they should have the song “desert song” by my chemical romance in the movie. Its a really slow song with acoustic guitars and talks about being lonely, which happens a lot inside the arena for Katniss. By the way JD the first page of the book talked about killing Prims cat……… is that what hooked you?
