“Tick Tock.” - Catching Fire
Yes we are aware this is a very silly song, (Tik Tok – Kesha) but it’s catchy and we thought it would be fun to organize a contest! After the amazing success of our Rue’s Lullaby, we want to do a fan created music video. We thought it could be awesome if lyrics were submitted and we compiled a song and I sang it, but it could also be awesome if you guys submitted recordings of your own. However, we don’t want to plan on doing a mashup if you guys aren’t comfortable singing/don’t have a good microphone. We would only be able to use high quality recordings without static. We wouldn’t want to plan on a mashup and get no entries at all! Let us know if it should be a mashup singing contest where you sing, or a lyric submission where I sing. The second part of the contest would involve you guys submitting video clips for the music video. Prizes would include mockingjay pins, shirts, and more!

I’ll totally sing! If I had a good microphone, and I can figure out some lyrics. Is it okay if I send you audio files from my camera? It’s not too bad quality, I guess I’ll see.

This sounds seriously awesome! I would love to do the lyric submission thing. Not that I don’t want to sing, but my microphone is extremely ILLEGALLY terrible :] And about the music video thing: Should it include footage of me/footage shot by me, or can it be a compilation of other clips? Anyway, it would be cooler if we didn’t need to submit footage of ourselves.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this earlier, but maybe for a later contest we could rewrite the lyrics of Eminem’s Mockingbird to our own Mockingjay.
