Poptimal: The Hunger Games is the ‘New Big Thing’

With the Twilight saga and the tomes of Harry Potter, it seems like these days Hollywood’s gamble on turning tween novels into movies has paid off. In fact, it is starting to hardly seem like a gamble at all with bastardized versions of Twilight like Vampire Diaries helping to resurrect the likes of the CW. (For the record, Vampire Diaries was written before Twilight.) Well folks, I think I have found it . . . the Next Big Thing – Hunger Games and its sequel, Catching Fire. Now, I’m far from the first person to uncover the magic of these little gems, but I want to go on record with this prophecy. Mark my words, Muggles – in the years to come, this series will become a household name, its story and characters infused into every pore of society, its title on the tip of every tongue. Here is a quick synopsis to get you up to speed and put you ahead of the game. Hollywood . . . pay attention!!

Heck yeah it is! Practically everyone I know has currently either read or is reading The Hunger Games right now. I’m so glad it’s finally getting a tad bit more popular.

In my school, literally no one reads Twilight or Harry Potter anymore! When someone sees me reading the Hunger Games, they start talking on how such a great book it is. People want to borrow my copy because our library is out of them! It started out as an ok book, but now, it’s getting WAY more popular than before! I’ve recommended it to all of my friends, and all of them say it’s an awesome book, and Twilight and Harry Potter are a thing of the past.

Initial reaction: HUZZAHHH YES HUNGER GAMES
Secondary reaction: uh oh. they better not kill it and make it something we have to be ashamed of like Twilight. Although, the hunger games is MUCH less of a guilty pleasure than twilight. At least the Hunger Games is written well, and has alternate themes. btw HARRY POTTER LIVES ON!!!!!!!

I’m a fan of the Hunger Games and all, but honestly, nothing can ever replace Harry Potter in my heart. In my perspective, Harry Potter will always be the best. If people haven’t noticed, the Harry Potter fandom is still alive and thriving.
And I totally agree with what “YAY PEETA” said, because the phrase: “the next big thing” makes me feel really nervous, because if the Hunger Games turns out like Twilight with really weird merchandise and stuff like that, it’s going to ruin the the series as a whole [no offense to any Twilight fans].

HECK YES! But I really don’t want it to get all … overpublicized or whatever, Twilight isn’t as fun as it used to be because all the crap merchandise (not that I don’t enjoy some of it), it’s just a little annoying.

The Hunger games and Catching Fire are both incredibly awesome.I already read The Hunger Games and I am currently reading Catching Fire.I hardly can put it down.I read all the Twilight Saga and sorry to say but The Hunger Games saga is so much more interesting.I can’t hardly wait for Mockingjay!I wish Suzanne Collins would continue with this leaving you on the end of your seat saga.I wish Katniss would magically fall in love with Peeta.I know what he is going through. But anyway,I actually dream of co-writing the next book of The Hunger Games saga.Haha.These books are great!
