MTV Analyzes the New ‘Mockingjay’ Cover!
This new “Mockingjay” cover is sky blue, a color that feels a lot like hope and freedom, especially when paired with a more realistically drawn bird that appears to have broken free from the circle, with its wings outstretched. When we last saw Katniss, Peeta and Gale, they were on a hovercraft headed to the promised land of District 13, while the rest of Panem was in an all-out revolution. The people were clearly ready to spread their wings, but if we know anything about this season, we know that they will have to fly far and dodge quite a few bullets before they’re home-free.

I’m so excited for this book. I really love the cover. I agree that it symbolizes Katniss and co. breaking free from the Capitol. I was wondering if you guys think this series will have a happy or sad ending? With all the death shown through the books it seems likely that only a few characters will get there happy ending, but the question is which ones?( I’m rooting for Katniss, Gale and Prim)
I am so excited about this book! I can’t wait to read it. But I had the same excaact idea in my head, about the broken circle and the whole freedom thing. Excaclty wat I was thinking.

Except for Peeta, we know the capitol has him but where and what’s happening. I do love the sumbolism of this cover. I always kind of picked a mocking jay as a black bird, but I understand that white works better in terms of symbolism.
They got it a little wrong … Peeta wasn’t there … *Cries* BUT hopefully he’ll show back up again, you can’t have The Hunger Games without a Peeta. That’s just wrong.

I was going to meantion about peeta not being on the hovercraft but Rolo beat me to it LOL. anyways I LOVED this cover, its totally awesome!
I am so Freaking excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think the Capitol will kill Peeta =( so sad. but maybe gale and katniss will be the star-crossed lovers from district 12 now… lol! no but seriously so excited. sad that they might (probably will, knowing the capitol=() kill peeta though. oh well. dont think ill cry for him like i cried for rue now that was sad!

I was super shocked! I mean the Hunger Games is not the Hunger Games with out Peeta. I am so upset. I cried when i figured out that Peeta was stuck at the Capitol. It just was so SAD!
