Fanart Tuesday: Girl on Fire

Description: Katniss, from The Hunger Games, done with watercolors. Believe it or not, this is a dress. All of the fabric is being blown around and all of that fancy-what-not, but when it’s all settled down, it really looks more like a dress. A dress with a jumpsuit sort-of-a-thing underneath. Ho, ho, ho.

Perhaps I should draw a sketch sometime of what the dress looks like without the wind blowing, but, that would require the use of my wrist, and I might just be too lazy to do that. HA.

I’m already aware that this does NOT fit the description of her dress in the book to a T. But this was my own vision of the dress. I think this way it really gives off the illusion that she is on fire, and that’s what is important to me.

I think this painting is totally gorgeous.
What do you guys think? I love the whimsical feeling the watercolors give it.

Oh my goodness, it’s Katniss, the girl on fire! :O I totally adore this. Amazing, amazing work. I don’t care if it may not fit the description in the book. It is lovely. :)

Cinna would be proud.

That’s awesome! Even if it isn’t like it said in the book, it’s still amazing!

Wow. I really love this. It sort of feels like an out of body experience almost. Like Katniss was knocked unconcious and she saw herself walking into the fight, on fire.

This is an excellent vision of the dress. It really does seem as if she is on fire! Oh, and by the way, how did you achieve the effect of two different paintings on top of each other (the body then the blowing dress)? Thanks, Career Boy District 1
