Jennifer Lawrence Has Been Offered ‘Katniss’ Role in Hunger Games?

Hailee Steinfeld actually looks the part!! Jenniffer has the body of a WOMAN, is blond, and fair skin!! and Katniss is a teen, 16, and totally the opposite of Jennifer Lawrence. So yeah, sure awesome actress, but not for OUR Hunger Games. Hailee is way better . Lets hope for the best!!

Awesome! I mean, I think she would have been a better fit for glimmer, clove, or Johanna, but as long as the make-up artists can make her look young enough, I’m all for it.

I wanted Kaya for Katniss, but when I heard this, I thought about Jennifer as Katniss. From what I saw (just the trailer and a few clips from Winter’s Bone) she was a pretty amazing actress. She did a perfect southern accent without sounding over the top. I saw a photoshopped pic of her with dark hair and grey eyes, and she looked like a good fit for Katniss! Just give her some hair dye and grey contacts, and she’ll be good to go! i’m fine with her (still like Kaya the best though) as long as it isn’t some 10 year old playing Katniss. BUT HUNTER PARRISH/ALEX PETTYFER AS PEETA! xD

Honestly, I’m a bit excited. I’ve seen her act. I’ve watched her interviews. She’s beautiful and friendly. I’d rather have a good actor than one that can’t act. I’m all for the older crowd too. If someone younger played Katniss, we wouldn’t have Hunter as a possible Peeta. *_* And I love Hunter. So much.

But this still isn’t confirmed by anyone yet, right? It was just an e-mail from a source. I’m still considering this a rumour until her people or Lionsgate whoever comes out and confirms it. I know Mockingjay.net is a reliable source though ^-^

I am actually okay with this, if it turns out to be true–even though I did like Hailee, I like her too. She’s 20, but I’m 19 and could easily pass for 16 with the right makeup (or lack thereof). People say “she’s too curvy”….there are ways to hide boobs, people. It’s pretty easy, trust me.
Point is, she’s an incredibly gifted actress! Get off the age thing and just accept it, she was nominated for a OSCAR for pete’s sake, up against the likes of Natalie Portman!

Even though Jennifer is not my first choice, I’m just glad that Lionsgate are getting a move on the casting. They’ve kept us waiting for too long.

One thing about JL, everyone keeps saying that the makeup crew can make her look young and katniss-like but I honestly think it’s important for the least amount of make up. With Hailee, they wouldnt have to put so much on! I think that katniss needs to look real, and not covered with makeup. Hailee can act and she looks the part. Two good reasons why she is the better pick.
I have no personal hatred of JL I just don’t see why she is a front runner for the katniss role. Put her in the movie, just not as katniss.

I think Lawrence will be fine, as long as they up the age of Peeta and Gale, too, seeing as the actress is older than Katniss.

Jennifer is nothing like Katniss. She is blonde, tan, curvy, and 20. Katniss is brunette, olive toned, skinny, and 16. Haliee looks much more like Katniss. Make-u;p and hair dye can only transform someone so much. I’d rather the production company spend money on better sets and stuff than make-up to make a blonde barbie look like a kick-ass brunette.

ughh she’s really just too old. she looks like a grown woman. katniss is supposed to be very small. this is a bigg girl. and not fat, but big. she’s really tall and big boned! even with hair dye, it’s impossible to miss the fact that she’s white. straight white. blonde haired, blue eyed, peachy skinned white. where the dark hair, olive skin, gray eyes, small stature? not here.. i’m disappointed.
