I think more of what we should be happy about is that she actually can sing without being awkward. You know how some actors, of a less-er caliber, sometimes do look awkward when they don’t feel comfortable?

Singing can be learned, anyway. ^.^

I don’t know why people are concerned if she can sing! She’ll be crying while she sings,

@THG Yeah, but she won’t be like, bawling her eyes out. She’s going to still have to sound good, no matter if she’s supposed to be crying or not. You remember that everyone hushes up when Katniss sings, even the team she was with at the time, because he voice is so beautiful.

Jennifer sings decently here, but you can tell she has a good voice from her tone and pitch and everything. She probably wasn’t even singing seriously either. I think she’ll do amazing.

She’ll be great, its all there, the voice and everything. Rehearsing that singing scene and even maybe getting a few voice lessons and then she will be Un-Believable. Thanks for posting Kimmy, so that people can see that Jen can sing, and its not an issue anymore.

I’m sorry, but I don’t concider this good singing. She doesn’t change the pitch at all thoughout the song. She has some control over her voice so she might do better when she makes a real attempt or get vocal lessons, but I don’t think this particular clip proves that she’s a good singer.

I’m all for her as Katniss though. If necessairy they could have someone else sing the song and have her mime the lyrics.

I really don’t think her being able to sing should be that big of an issue… there are ways they can make it seem like she’s a good singer even if she isn’t. So it really makes no difference to me. I would rather have someone who could really act than not have her just because she can’t really sing. GO JENNIFER! I love her for the role though.

Anyone who doubts JL’s acting abilities should definitely watch that movie. It’s not for the faint of heart nor is it for young people…but if you’re able to watch it, you should. Her acting is so raw and genuine…I have no doubt that she will make a fantastic Katniss.

I honestly never worried about the singing. Actually, I almost forgot about that trait of Katniss’ completely. I kinda doubt that they’ll even add that into the movies. Seems like something they’d just put to the side anyways, something they’ll decide to leave out. They do that with a lot of movies based on books.

For those people who don’t think Jennifer will do well in the role who are to say that she’s not good enough ya know? If the frick’n author said she didnt think they would find somebody as perfect to play Katniss as her why would you even doubt it?

It was such an amazing movie, Jennifer is a remarkable actress. I have no doubts that she can pull off Katniss.

I think some people here should keep in mind that this scene is her goofing off while singing. She isn’t trying to sound amazing…she’s just having fun! =D

I actually love Jennifer for Katniss. But does anyone notice how her lips sorta curl when she sings? It looks a little awkward. Just pause at 2:57 and you’ll see what I mean.

Yup, it’s about three sisters living in the poker house. You get to see how difficult one day of their life can be and there is even a rape scene so… I don’t recommend it to everyone. It’s a great movie so you should check it out!

Well that still definitely doesn’t convince me. that song is nothing like the songs Katniss sings in The Hunger Games. I don’t hate her, but I’m still not sure if she is going to work.

I am quite convinced that she can pull off Katniss and besides, she’s not singing seriously in this scene, but I really do hope that they show the part where she sings Rue to “sleep”, that made me cry so hard. And although Chloe is 14, compared to Jen’s height and stature, she can totally pull off Prim! Hunter Parrish for Peeta.
