Nice! I love it! but there’s a part where I don’t remember tht I read it on the book (one person tried to kill Katniss in the river side then Peeta saved her) Could you guys tell me, did that part really happen in the book??? Sorry, I was confused! But nice trailer!

They’re pretty good, but I can’t help but be bugged about some small things. Like the launch circle was way too small. The location where they shot the scene was clearly big enough for them to spread out and make the bloodbath grander.

As all of us on this message board are MAJOR Hunger Games fans (hence, our commenting on this message board, lol) and have most likely read the books recently and/or more than once (guilty!), we are definitely more likely to realize certain inconsistencies that are evident in these trailers. We notice the difference of the color of the backpacks, the fact that the tributes are wearing different clothes, the size of the arena, etc.
HOWEVER, I think that these trailers took a lot of hard work, and numerous man-hours of preparation, shooting, and editing. And it is an amateur’s college project, so it has to be looked at with that in mind as well. It costs money to buy all of the extra things that you need to prepare a set if you don’t have them just laying around your house – even for the littlest things. So as a college student, shelling out even more on an orange backpack, when she had a perfectly usable blue one at her disposal, was PROBABLY financially motivated.
And a lot of the people who screened this in her college class had probably never read the Hunger Games, and therefore didn’t know a lot of the details that as wonderfully dedicated fans we pick at and gripe about. 
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t notice them too , but as a film major, I can personally say that I KNOW this took a LOT of hard work and I think that the first one is particularly good, especially for an amateur. She managed to build tension, portray drama, and introduce the main content of the story to those who are otherwise unfamiliar with the material.
I was particularly impressed by the lighting, and by the construction of certain shots. It made me even more excited to see the studio trailer The Hunger Games, despite my own personal issues with some of the casting, etc.
Long story short: I PERSONALLY say well done. I hope she gets some extra hits on her YouTube clip because I believe that her hard work paid off.

I like the 2nd one better, although both were very well done. Both played on a different aspect to the story, which was interesting to see. And the acting wasn’t to bad either .

I think it’s pretty impressive for a college project even with the inconsistencies which I shall blame in on low budget considering they have to do all the acting, makeup, editing, props etc themselves. I had done several short videos for school projects before so I do know how much time we have to invest before we will get even a decent 2 minutes clip. Not bad for a fan made product!

The creator of these trsilers obviosly took a lot of time and invested many hours in the project and probbaly on a shoestring budget.
Rather than trash them for what they are not, one needs to look at them for the skill in direction, cinematography, and content.
The creator is obviously a pationate fan and has done a remarkable job in re-creating scenes without the billions of dollars the moviemakers will have to use.

I love that you show both sides–romance vs. violence. The music is awesome, and I love your Peeta!! He’s incredibly good-looking; it’s like you took the Peeta straight out of my head. o_O

i liked the second one more, I thought it was more emotional personally. The first one didn’t really seem like a trailer very much (eve though it was awesome!!) but the second one actually did grip me emotionally, so I really loved these.

wasnt that bad, but i wouldnt want that to be like the movie. no offense, but it didnt have exactly all the stuff it did in the book. The guy who killed Rue stadded her with a spear and stood there and Katniss shot him down/ and Rue is supposed to have dark skin. But other than that, it was pretty good

This was done very well! I can’t believe there are so many people complaining about it. This is an amateur college project. There was probably a very low budget, limited props and they are not professionals. People need to stop complaining that it does not follow exactly how the book goes or “it should have been a spear, not a sword” or any of that junk. We should all complement how well done this is and congratulate them on their SUPER AWESOME trailer that I’m sure the rest of us could not do. YOU GUYS ROCK!

I love the second one! The first one was a little too…corny? I don’t know but the intro with the family watching the television was cool! The song at the end of the second one was awesome!

I kinda liked the first one better. I love how beautifully shot they were and the music too. I loved the whole family watching it and I am pretty sure that was the audio to the Katniss And Rue clip. I remember it. They totally should make the whole movie. And yeah these books HAVE touched alota people!!! They sure touched me.

these are scary cool- did she just make traliers? or is there a movie attached? (i’ve been meaning to make a movie- but i have the lowest movie equptmen!) This i think is the best that i’ve seen- and hope that there’s a movie attached- 1 thing, some parts look a bit made up in or changed from the book. but i liked it.

BEAST!!! these were amazing!!! This young filmmaker did a fantastic job!!! Everything looked so real ands the characters were amazing!!!! Te Katniss looked real not overly fake or super glamorous she just looked like a girl that had been working practically her whole life to help her family survive an the one to male sacrifices. The peeta was amazing(and cute ) and he looked pretty tough when he owned all those guys when he pushed them to the ground!!! An when Katniss shot that tribute dude with her arrow after rue died she just completely like made me want to go change my name to Katniss Everdeen and then put AKA girl on fire with a stick of dynamite ready to blow bad people up that try to kill me!!!!! Haha!!!!!! Anyways if this is that wonderful and boss amazing then the movie is going to be like PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!! I kinda was hoping we could see a scene with prim and gale but who cares!!! I wouldn’t change a thing about those trailers!!! Keep it up Shelby!!!!! AKA beast-boss amazing filmmaker that just owned the world with her boss amazing skills!!!

Dear Everyone,
First I’d like to thank everyone for the overwhelming positive response to the two trailers. It is incredible and I don’t have words to express my gratitude.
The objective of the project was to take the essence of the story, the beauty, the violence, the desperation and turn it into something visual. Being a student project, some things regrettably had to change to make it possible but by the end of the story we don’t care what color their backpack was or who’s hair looked better. We remember how terrifying it was, how much Peeta would give up for the girl he loves and the unconquerable power of the human spirit.
This project is a celebration of an amazing story that none of us will soon forget.
(And to all you haters: I’d like to see you do the same with 300 bucks and two days to film. Good luck.)

To sum it up. Low Budget – Extremely High Quality. The typeface alone showed how much thought and work was put into these trailers. So many behind the scene hours were put in to make what you see now. When you haters can make one as good, you have earned the right to complain. Keep up the good work Shelby. This wont be the last time we hear about you.

I like the music of the first one… it was kinda stupid and trying too hard though. The second one I stopped after about 5 seconds. I’ve seen better.
