The only thing I dislike about these castings is that is not going to be a surprise to anybody when Katniss wins. She is the tallets and practically most muscular tribute and she also looks the oldest. I like that they casted young to get the horrendous nature of the games accross, but I really wanted the careers to look a whole lot scarier that Katniss.

Each successive casting for this movie has made less and less sense…I like Jennifer and Josh but everything else is just…odd.

Isabelle is WAY too young for this part. Clove is supposed to be big and scary and menacing relative to Katniss and I don’t see how a 14-year-old is going to be able to pull that off next to 20-year-old Jennifer.

And Alexander doesn’t have the right build for Cato at all.

I like cheering on the underdog and visually and logically looking at all the tributes, Katniss is NOT the underdog. JLaw could take every one of those tributes in a fight. Peeta included. Its really going to change the feel of the movie I think.

HAH! I just watched Race to With Mountain and didn’t get the Peeta hype for him. He seemed to cold and calculated for Peeta. And we’ve already heard the tributes are training and bulking up, so he will look different I’m sure.

LOVE her. She was totally creepy in Orphan. I think the creepy factor they both have fits so well with Careers. Isn’t it completely creepy that these people spend their lives train for the death match that is the Hunger Games? I wouldn’t expect them to look normal after growing up with that mentality.

I think, so far, they’ve had almost near perfect casting. Personally, I like the choices. The characters have to be able to pull of a vibe, not necessarily the *look* that can be doctored up. Besides, all of the tributes were supposed to be pretty — they prettier the more they could be used by Snow, just like Finnick. I love the casting. I completely think it’s brilliant.

I think this casting is great. I mean Isabelle Furhman? She is BRILLIANT! Probably the most excited I’ve been about casting other than Stanley Tucci. And I think Alexander Ludwig is a great choice too. He’ll be able to be attractive and a creeper/ruthless killer and it’s gonna be great! The best bad guys are always the ones that have a little something that makes you like them.

OMG I swear the fandom would be more satisfied if Gary Ross created puppets who fit the exact character descriptions from the book and filmed a 1.5 hour Hunger Games puppet show. This is the best casting news I’ve heard thus far. Isabelle did a FANTASTIC job in Orphan, and she’s so perfect for the role. Alex Ludwig, I believe, is way too good-looking to die. But he’ll be an excellent Cato, just know.

Well, unlike most of the people who commented….I think that Alexander Ludwig for Cato was a good choice. I know that castings don’t come out as what you imagined, but your just going to learn to deal with it because the whole movie isn’t going to be just like the book or what you imagined. I’m sure it will do fine. And even though I did imagine, though, Cato and Clove as older, strong, and blonde hair, I think that they both will do fine….just give them a chance to show it on screen.

I absolutely love Alexander Ludwig, but he just doesn’t seem very Cato-like. I imagined Cato as this big, strong, naturally large guy. I just can’t imagine him being able to defeat Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh). Of course, they might put him through training and all that to bulk up, and then I’d be okay with him. I trust his acting abilities. So, bulk up first!

And Clove looks great! She’s exactly what I pictured in my head, and she can obviously act, so I’m happy with her!

I always imagined her around Katniss’s age because of her cruelty but I suppose this will show the horror of the Hunger Games on a different level. I really like her whole look, demeanor, and attitude for clove but i do wish she was at least close to jennifer’s size and a little older looking BUT.. i’m still tremendously happy and think shell do an outstanding job.

They have the faces for it, but they are too small!! They are supposed to be twice katniss’s size and older too. Even though they might want to show the audience how horrible it is because kids are fighting, The thing about the games is that the younger kids dont get picked as much, it’s the older because they have more of a chance getting picked, which makes 17 year olds who have been training years go up against a 12 year old who has been starved. The difference needs to be obvious because in my opinion that what makes the games so horrible.
