This is so exciting! I’m liking the vibe of this place for district 12
it’s kinda cool, my judgement till a trailer though…
omg u guys is this really happening? LOL
do any of u think we’ll have our cinna by this week? IS FREKING KILLING ME
oh my goodness!!! i am soo much more excited now!!!
District 12
my guess is that by the end of the movie that little town will be on the map! Maybe even HungerGames fans will make pilgrimages to see it
@District15:)
I would happily make that journey.
So this WAS the train station! Coolness. I don’t want to sound really judgmental, because this entire thing is fantastic, but weren’t the trains really high-tech and futuristic compared to the rest of D12? I guess they won’t be doing that for the movies. Again, that’s fine, just pointing it out.
SOOO excited! And @ Gabrielle, I thought they were going to be futuristic, too. The actual train still might be, and I’m guessing it will be.
I’m having trouble getting my own image of D12 as being ‘medieval’ with hints (TV’s and trains) of modern things. Does anyone else have that problem?
Wow. It looks like the slums in the Philippines. Or any third world country, for that matter. I like it. It’ll show the poor conditions that they live in without going over the top in either the futuristic or the stone age direction.
I used to live there! It’s Shelby, NC. I swear it’s a blink of the eye town I’m amazed they chose to film there.
It would make a lot of sense to have the D12 train station be really decrepit but have a fancy train that comes in from the capital. The whole description of D12 in the books makes it sound like a place that’s falling apart. I always imagined it as kind of slummy (except for the town square).
a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is beyond coolness! I can’t wait any more!! How I wish I could go and see the film set personally…. Not that that’s gonna happen
Oh well, gimme the hunger games movie now!
Ooooooooh this looks really cool!!! I’m getting sooooo much more excited!
Wow….I love how all they did was just give us a video of the pictures we’ve already seen. >.<
@RENEE PAULINE, Actually most of rural NC looks like this. I guess it’s a good thing, or we wouldn’t have been chosen for filming.
I live near Shelby, and it’s perfect for District 12. It has an old town feel, and it’s in the mountains. I’m so excited they are filming there!
I’m guessing that if we see older trains on set, it’s probably a D12 coal transport train. It’d be cool if they took advantage of the contrast between the Capitol and Disctrict 12 by having Katniss get on a hi-tech train of the future after the reaping.
ahhhhh! this is so exciting!
Love it!! So exciting. And yeah I’m pretty sure it will be a very futuristic high tech train pull into the grey worn out district 12 because it’s from the capital
one word: YES!!!!!!!!
this is AMAZING!!!!!!!!
… okay, maybe four words. that all counts on your judgements, though.
@Summer yeah, that’s what i was thinking, too.
WOW its final piecing together!!:) so excited
<3=]:]:}
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG
*hipervenalating* exactly how i imagined it!!!!!!
^^^^ hahaah exactly….wow it looks too cool!
That place looks so cool. could it be the mining area or the hub??
ahhhhh! now I know where my friend is working!!! (Yes, my friend is working on the Hunger Games!!!!!)
It may be shot in North Carolina but that set reminds me of West Virginia…. actually everything about District 12 remines me of WV. The accent Suzanne uses while talking like Katniss, the fact Jennifer’s southern, the descriptions of D12 living conditions, the fact D12 is supposedly suppost to be Appalachians, and how D12 coal mines. I lived in WV for a long time…. just a thought.
