Four New Editions of ‘The Hunger Games’ To Be Published!

Scholastic will be releasing a special gift set edition of The Hunger Games later this year.
Also, three movie tie-in editions will be released in early 2012 just in time for The Hunger Games movie to hit theaters on March 23, 2012.
The Hunger Games Collector’s Edition will sell for about $30 and will be available in November. It will include a special slipcase featuring new, exclusive mockingjay artwork.
In February, Scholastic will also publish a movie tie-in edition of The Hunger Games, retailing for about $13. Scholastic will also publish The Hunger Games: Official Illustrated Movie Companion for $18.99 and The World of The Hunger Games for $17.99, both also set for release in February.

“Millions of readers have already discovered the world of The Hunger Games series, and now even more will come to it through the release of the film,” said Ellie Berger, President of the Scholastic Trade Publishing division. “The collector’s edition will be the perfect holiday gift this year for teens or adults, and the tie-in books will add new dimensions to our Hunger Games publishing as we anticipate the release of the feature film.”
I really want to see what the movie tie-in / companion editions will look like / contain!

For those of you who do not understand, it will not change the story in any way, it’ll just be a new edition with some added stuff like the artwork, maybe a different jacket cover. I’ll be more for the fans’, if you’re willing to invest money in it. I didn’t even think they would do this for the Hunger Games. It’s pretty neat.

They are releasing 4 new versions of THG before the movie comes out. Same story, different packaging. So 1. Collector’s edition with artwork 2. Movie tie in, probably with pics from the movie and a new cover with JLaw 3. A book about the making of The Hunger Games movie 4. A book about…Panem? I’m still unclear about that one but I think that’s what the four editions are about.

If one of them is about the making of the movie and one is about Panem then I am definately looking forward to those ones.

Movie Companion might be the making of the movie or the story told again but with pictures from the movie. I don’t know.

@GAB This stuff is all promo for the movie. Carefully timed to raise the hype. And yes, a movie companion is like a making of. Pics of filming, locations, actors etc. It’s not that confusing…

I’d definitely buy The World of The Hunger Games if it included an official map of Panem, like LOTR did for Middle Earth.
I can’t justify re-buying the original books though :-/ If money grew on trees…

Message from EUROPE!: Here, They made new covers, (Not tie-ins) But the image looks totally different now. Write into google, Europian Hunger games covers. Not a fan of them so thats why i have the americans but YES i am sooooooo getting the tie-ins!

This is cool but expected. THG is their next money making device like Twilight. It will be a huge franchise and they know we (fans) will pay to get all these things. (think movie posters, movie companions, shirts, keychains and even action figures/dolls!)

The companion is about the makng of the movie – it’s really good because they put A LOT of new pics in it! They will post the cover art a month or two before it comes out. And as for the Panem thing? It will be like the Twilight Official Illustrated Guide. Just facts and backstories and pictures of characters.
