Hunger Games Music Project – Score By Edward Underhill & Matt Bukaty
When I heard this I was completely blown away. Matt Bukaty and Edward Underhill are actual composers, and have done scores for many documentaries and films. They both loved ‘The Hunger Games’ trilogy and decided to compose an unofficial score together. They aren’t just any pieces of music, each track has a title relating to the part of the novel and the music actually tells the story without any lyrics. I listened to each track at least twice! My favorite’s definitely ‘Let the games begin,’ because I can imagine just that, Katniss running for her bow and arrows, Foxface leaping into the woods, and them rising up on their platforms. Can’t wait!

Wow, TRULY inspiring! I went to their website, and the first song alone (“May the odds…”) was enough to choke me up! I am an aspiring film composer, and it is amazing to hear what these two composers have done with the inspiration of a book!!

These guys are truly extraordinary. I can’t believe they’re letting us listen to their music for free on their site – I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it if it were the real soundtrack! My favorite has to be The Cave. It has such a bittersweet sound to it.

This is amazing, i went to the website, individually listened to all songs, then i tried something that sound amazing. Play the first track, let it go for about 10 seconds then play the next one for 10 seconds, and continue on, after the big cresendo, slowly pause the last track, wait 10 seconds, then work your way up till the final track ends. Try this!

I literally just bawled. That was beautiful. I could imagine every scene with the music. What a freaking amazing job to have to be able to produce music from book scenes! That music has so much potential.

OMG! Another unofficial score! I absolutely love Sam Cushion’s one and now there’s another one. I haven’t even watched beyond the first few seconds yet but I already love the singing and the picture. I look forward to watching the rest.

My Favorites were Let The Games Begin, Nightlock/The Victors, and Loss and Survival. I really loved them all though! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was absolutely amazing! My favorite has to be The Cave because, the piano part was so beautiful and tender and just romantic, in an odd way. Also, Journey to the Capitol and May the odds…… all of it was just amazing.

Was “May the Odds…” and “Boy With The Bread” together? It goes from only one song to “Journey To the Capitol.”
“Rue’s Lullaby” is gorgeous. So sad.

They are all between 2 and 6 minutes long. That’s very good because you get much more listening time. :L
I think they missed some of the songs in this video. The complete tracks are definately longer than those they posted on Youtube.

Simply beautiful music! Haven’t listened to the whole thing yet, but Rue’s Lullaby was excellent. I love how many different versions of that song people are coming up with.
Oh my goodness that was amazing! Rue’s Lullaby almost made me burst into tears.
This was pretty good! For some reason, I especially love the Loss and Survival one.
I’m really hoping they have just an instrumental soundtrack. If they do get songs with lyrics, I feel like they dark/grungy type of songs would work. Not necessarily for their lyrics, but for their sound. Like I always imaged Marilyn Manson’s version of Sweet Dreams would work perfectly. Or something from NIN.
But my hopes are for Bear McCreary [though I know it'll never happen]. Listening to the soundtracks for Battlestar Galactica, I can see where a lot of the songs would fit with Hunger Games.
This is so amazing! I constantly listen to all kinds of Hunger Games songs and actually bought one unofficial score on itunes, but this just tops everything! If this one can be in my possession I would just be so happy! This is epic music to match an epic story and I really can not wait for the movie. The Hunger Games has changed my life and I can’t wait to change it some more.
