Local news reporter Russ Bowen tweeted photos of locations that had a “lot of filming activity” and a building that can only be Mellark’s Bakery.
Bakery downstairs, Peeta’s home upstairs.
Frosting by you know who!
A house from the Seam perhaps?
So what do you guys think? Is one of these building locations the home of the Everdeens? Is Mellark’s Bakery what you’d imagined while reading the books?
Also, since this is my first posting, I figure I should briefly introduce myself as one of Kimmy’s new posters. My name is Crystal and I live in Honolulu, Hawaii. I’m a big Hunger Games fan, so I hope to get to know more fellow fans while doing this!

always pictured a small wooden house beside a brickwall as the bakery but i guess that works too, after all it’s just a building

I kind of imagined it as being on a block of other stores for some reason, like on a street of shops, not standing by itself.

I never really had a specific picture of the bakery so I’m fine with this

@Crystal I did too, like a small shop in a strip, but with like a small street so it’s kinda like a dark alley of shops, and I pictured it with glass not a cage.

I sorta imagine the bakery like that except where the mellark live would be on the same floor as the bakery. All in one building.

I don’t imagine the bakery like that but I actually don’t mind. The little house would be so good as the Everdeen’s house! It looks just right for it!

This is how I imagined it, but I also invisioned more buildings next to it. Like a block of stores with gaps in between each. I don’t know how it will turn out in the movie, but either way it’s fine.

Actually I did picture the bakery by itself but not how I pictured the bakery AT ALL! Or the houses for that matter but YAY!!

Hello Crystal! Glad to see a new poster – more posts are always awesome.
Nice set pictures. I envisioned the bakery to be a one-story building, but I guess two-stories are more suitable for also the Mellark’s living spaces. The house set looks cool too.

i imagined it kinda with other shops like a plaza and also katniss’s house A LOT smaller. Remember people she can barely feed her family and somwtimes not even herself. So yea…..Then i imagined the bakery like with redish brown bricks and the windows were like glowing ellow and peeta inside frosting away;P

I think the random house is, like, Katniss’s house or something. The Bakery looks great! I can’t exactly remember how I imagined it…but it seems awesome. I am SO PSYCHED for this movie.

Re: the bakery, I seem to recall Katniss mentioning that the Mellark’s live over the bakery, so I think it’s accurate!

It’s probably Gale’s house since Willow(Prim) is done shooting it couldn’t be the everdeens house and I imagined the bakery as being more like wooden

Oh I can see them all already! I got chills people CHILLS!!! Oh and Kimmy, you should really listen to the song “Beside You” by Marinas Trench. It reminds me of Peeta and Katniss during the games and before he got hijacked and stuff. *poor Peeta* I think it’s because I am team Peeta but that song made me cry like nobody’s bussiness. It’s a really sweet song by itself anyway but I just thought I’d like to share that with Kimmy and everybody else who reads the comments.

I also imagined the Everdeen house a lot smaller, like a one-room shack. Perhaps the house in the photo is intended for something else though. Either way, the buildings look very Seam-ish at least! Thanks for posting Crystal.

@thg4ever Haymitch wouldnt be living in that, because he survived the Hunger Games and therefore would live in the Victor Village. but i can see one of those houses being the Hawthorne’s house or the Everdeen’s.

If you search for “Henry River Mill Village” on flikr, there are a lot of great photographs taken around the abandoned village where these buildings are. It definitely has a very District 12 feel:)

That’s exactly how I imagined Katniss’s house would look like! I thought the bakery would be smaller and look like something from little house on the prairie surrounded by other shops in the town plaza.
