so freakin epic! gah *spazzes out due to lack of hunger games*

Pretty stunning. But I must admit that the fight scene between Haymitch and the careers towards the beginning was a little staged as was the ending scene with the District One tribute. Now the ending scene was a little better, and obviously the ax was fake but I was able to tell which I shouldn’t have been. The reactions of the actor and actress were also a little over-dramatic. I actually found myself laughing a little bit when I believe the District One truibute kicks Haymitch in the stomach and he has the most over-animated face on. And at some point, the female tribute made a loud grunting noise that was a little…strange. But besides those points, I did truly love it

I agree that Maysilee didn’t play her part well. And I think Danielle did an awesome job. As for the goryness, it could have been more, but I wont get my hopes up since it will probably be the same in the movie. This was amazing, but the blood looked really fake in my opinion, and the choking on blood thing was a little over-rated in my opinion. Also, I wish that the ax had come from behind like in the book, but Danielle’s face was priceless.

But seriously though, we never learned Maysilee’s name or that she and Haymitch ( :3 ) were district partners. So you’d have to be a fan to know who she is and what’s going on in the film.

I’m posting here way too much, but DWTC has been informed of more photos and a behind the scenes video!! And they are going to interview the cast and staff. Looking forward to hearing from Danielle and Haymitch’s actor whose name escapes me at the moment…

I think it’s funnny how some people are saying it was too gory… It wasn’t gory enough! The hunger games. Series is chalk full if gore. Suzanne provides all the nasty details in her books, ” He staggers through the beautiful woods, holding his intestines in, while she stumbles after him, carrying the ax that should deliver his deathblow.” Doesn’t that paint a pretty picture in your head. This video did have blood, but you never do see those intestines, or the moment the ax cuts through the district 1 girls head. It’s those specific details that give the hunger games books that huntingly eerie feel throughout. I think the fact that this video can people feeling sick after watching it means it’s a success. Again though, if they’d wanted this as accurate as possible, adding in the flock of candy pink birds that “skewer through” Maysilee’s neck would have helped. I loved it though. It closely followed the explaination provided in the second book, and it did leave viewers disgusted. Great job to the makers!

one word…AH-STINKIN-MAZING…i was literally screaming with joy because it came it….i was on my ipod and saw it and decided just to get online…i am blown away by the scenery,actors,actressses,the gore,and the complete epicness that MainStayPro has put into one short film…they always make me pround and i am pretty sure im in love with Haymith…hahaha thanks MainStayPro

Haymitch… wow. This actor was actually perfect… not to mention, very attractive…

Only complaint- isn’t everything supposed t be poisonous? So why are they drinking off the leaves? Rainwater, maybe not, but the leaves themselves? Hmmm…

Overall, so intense. Loved it.

I loved it! It wasn’t to gory for me, thank goodness It seems like John Lyde has a certain style. ex., At the beginning of his katniss and rue short, there are completely different characters (in this case, tributes) and one kills the other. Same in this short, except there is an already dead tribute

The only thing that made me squirmish was the choking on blood (pretty much any blood that you choke on (around the neck) or comes out of your mouth) made me super quirmish. And the intestines.

I pointed that out as well! I mean, Maysilee had her darts but they were drinking water off supposedly poisonous plants. They’d been better off cupping their hands or something. With some flaws, the video was still pretty awesome. My only big regret is the lack of dialogue.

Tone down the blood?!?!? Why? It’s the Hunger Games! Its supposed to be bloody! I thought it was perfect! The part at the beginning just brought the whole thing together! Simply amazing!

OMG EPIC and AMAZING! My friends and i are complete fans and are sooo excited beyond words for all this..i am an original fan from when the books first came outish….Lol It was amazing and the guy who played Haymitch was HOT time100!!!! LOL

loved this short film, but i liked the katniss and rue one better. the acting and the script was better. but i loved the scenery in this one.

You think the dead male tribute and the “I want to go home” girl in the beginning were district partners and foreshadowed Haymitch and Maysille, and Maysilee’s death? Just throwing that out there.

For a fan-vid, I reckon it’s pretty good. It stuck closer to the book than Katniss and Rue, but was a bit cheesier. The slow-mo was unintentional comedy. Seriously.
The physics of the axe hitting Churcan’s head is sligtly confusing. When she threw the axe at Haymitch, he was only about eight feet away, the force field could have been as much as twenty or thiry feet from her. So when it hit the force field, it shouldn’t have rebounded with enough velocity to hit her. The only explanation is that the District One girl overthrew her axe a huge, huge, huge amount, but that seems extremely unlikely due to the length of the fight and the injuries she had. A head-scratcher indeed.
And it was not that gory, the “gore” was purely for shock value.

To be far the girl lost an eye her depth perception would have been crap so that is why she missed and remember to suspend your disbelief it’s a work of fiction

i know people r saying it isnt gory enought or whatever but it is 2 WAY different things to READ the stuff or WATCH the stuff…just saying

I loved it- they do such a great job making the games come to life. They picked a perfect Haymitch!!!! They should remake Katniss’s quarter quell- I’d die to see their version of it!

That… really wasn’t particularly good, guys. It’s a fan-made video for a reason. At parts, the blood looked syrupy – particularly when it drips off Haymitch’s knife toward the end. There was hardly any dialogue, and for what dialogue there was, it was awkward and unconvincingly delivered. As for Danielle, literally all she did was run around and grunt. I really can’t wait for the real movie.

The script was my biggest complaint. We don’t learn a whole lot from it, not even Maysilee’s name. (that’s gotta be the third time I’ve whined about that but still!)
I didn’t find it disturbingly gory because of the blood. I mean, there are a bunch of flaws but it’s really cool that they took the time to make this, just like the Rue&Katniss video. So we are praising it for what it is: a fan-made video.

That was so amazing!! But the beginning was so sad. I only realised what she said the second time I watched it and that girl is such an amazing actor! The place where they filmed it is so beautiful and it’s SO COOL that they had someone to compose music especially for the video!

that was absolutely disgusting!!! and the girl at the end is the same girl that played katniss in their other videos, which is super desperate of them….. but i think it was pretty cool!

Er guys it’s mean’t to be gory, it is the Hunger Games after all. If you can’t handle it then you probably shouldn’t be reading the books.

one thing though Maysilee said there were five tributes including her and Haymitch then she leaves and dies leaving 4 then the District 1 girl, his last opponent, the big finale, the whole shaZAM whatever shows up and they have the final battle? what happened to the other 2 tributes it’s not a big deal just wondering.

I also made a joke at one scene the girl in the end seems to like get him in the crotch with the axe. Well now I see why he didn’t have children lol
