Fan Food: Roasted Rabbit Leg, Katniss Style

so it’s ok to kill a chicken or a cow but not a rabbit? I figure that a life is a life and either they are all ok or none of them are.

wow… this entire thing is ridiculous. its food. she did a great job cooking it and photographing it it looks delicious. i would understand people getting upset if it was raw or half spoiled but this is a very nicely (looking) cooked piece of meat. the fact that its rabbit makes people disgusted? what?! get over it guys … good job to whoever made it.. you should totally make me some

Whatever your views are, I think it’s pretty rude to leave comments like “that’s disgusting!” and “how could you kill your own pet?” Be more mature people. Many people around the world eat many different types of foods and just because someone does not comply with your beliefs does not mean that you should put them down. Farmers eat their own chickens and cows, and people in Africa eat crickets as snacks. As many people here have stated already, rabbit is not exactly an unusual choice for meat to eat. Why even comment rude posts anyways? Does anyone here really care if you are a vegetarian or that you are grossed out? Please. If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, don’t say it at all.

I understand that cultural differences make some foods okay for others to eat- but for me, personally, i found this disturbing and honestly question the judgement involved in posting this picture.

@K Seriously, I hate when people make a big deal if a bunny or squirrel is killed and eaten but those hypocrites happily eat a cow or pork. It doesn’t even look that gross. Hunger Games fans? That could handle reading about shooting tributes in the neck with an arrow and drowning in their own blood? Can’t handle a piece of food/meat? It’s just like chicken. I understand it could be kind of weird to think about, but only because it’s unusual to some people. I mean, you read about killing stuff like that in the books.
To me, it looks like a chicken leg. I would eat it.
(I do think bunnies are cute, but it won’t bring it back to life to not eat it.)
Good pic. The only reason I would hate killing an animal is if you kill it just to kill it. Like, not even eating it or anything. (unless it’s self defense) That’s cruel. Feeding yourself and/or family? That’s not.

Dude, it’s not disgusting or cruel so don’t type rude comments like that. It’s just how some people eat. Do people insult you for being a vegetarian because it’s “disgusting”? It’s your choice, but you don’t have to hate someone that doesn’t live the same way you do. Things live, things die. It’s natural for animals to eat other animals. It’s not cruelty, it’s NATURE.
(For the record, I don’t hate vegetarians. Just get annoyed by people that hate anyone else that doesn’t live by the same rules they do.)
