Hunger Games Fireside Chat Episode 24 Highlights
A few weeks back, one of our readers commented and said that they’d like to get a rundown of what happens on Fireside Chat each week if they can’t listen in live. I apologize because I haven’t really had time to do this for you guys. Recently, Fireside Chat launched their own website and they also put up highlights of their show from earlier in the week. Awesome, because now I can just post this!

Listen to the highlight above where we have a good laugh about a bunch of extras that added themselves to the IMDB full cast list including a mysterious man named Trexler Hoverhound.

I love this podcast!! Please keep us updated on it!!
Yay! Fireside Chat FTW!
I hate names like “Trexyl Hoverhound”–if this is indeed the name of a real character and not just an extra who made up a name for themselves. “Trexyl Hoverhound” sounds like the name of a player on a fairy-world game game I played when I was younger, where you have to stick to pre-sets and put odd words together to make a name, like “Viytex Icefire” or “Zanxi Swiftstrike”. They’re trying far too hard to make it sound futuristic, it just sounds lame. Compare it to the names in the book: “Peeta”, a form of “Peter”, “Gale”, a name we have this day and age, and “Madge”, sometimes a nickname for “Margaret”. Even “Cinna” seems reasonable. The head Gamemaker’s name was “Seneca”, the announcer “Claudius”, and the escort “Effie”. “Katniss” is one of the weirder names in the book, and it still is pleasant to my ears. I do hope this is an extra naming themselves…
Rant over, Fireside chat is awesome.
What happened to Jabberjays?! I loved that podcast!
@eleven6 I agree, the name ‘Hoverhound’ sound really stupid. Probaly the last name was an inside joke with the cast or the actor just gave himself the name.
LOL!! this is too funny!
I would guess that the guy just gave himself the name because he’s a hovercraft pilot or something. I highly doubt Lionsgate would add someone with a name to the script because it could seem tacky and desperate. So to be honest, I’m not all that worried, because even if Trexler Hoverhound IS in the movie, it’s not like he’ll ruin the whole thing. Who knows? Maybe he’s just a tribute and will die in the end anyway. xD
thanks for posting this. I’ve always wanted to hear them but never could. Maybe he is the piolt…
He’s definitely just an extra who made up a name.
I heard Trexler Hoverhound is a rebel from the capitol. I love fireside chat!
