With news for The Hunger Games being drier than Katniss’ sense of humor, I think it’s time for some cookies! Here’s my latest Hunger Games item for Fictional Food, the cookies that Mr. Mellark gives to Katniss before she leaves. It’s always killed me how she tosses them out the window without eating them.

Can she go on deviantart and look for fanart? Perhaps restart music Monday? Mockingjay.net isn’t just the movie, it’s the books too. And it doesn’t count if one person is showing off how they can make cookies that look like the ones from The Hunger Games. *sigh* I’m sorry if I hurt ur feelings. No I’ll probably get thumbs down :/
@Cilla848 So it’s cool until you read that I made them? In case you didn’t notice, this IS something to do with the books, not the movies, yet you’re saying this hasn’t anything to do with Hunger Games. You don’t like anything I do around here so I hope you don’t mind if I just keep on going doing what I’m doing without taking your advice.

I was upset when i first read that Katniss threw the cookies out of the train window. It would of been nice for her to taste some sweetness before what she thought would of been the last days of her life.
@Crystal *puts head in hands* I’ve been trying to contact Mockingjay.net with news tips for months! Also, I was thinking that I might see Peeta’s dad in a picture. Second, I would like to see something on here NOT made by “professional fans”. perhaps some writing. Some music. The music is what originally got me attracted to the site and the fact that the fans were represented so well. Seems like niether thing is happening anymore. the real thing is, I don’t care about cookies and cake and movies and actors and how thin or fat someone is. I care about the message of the books and helping people bring that story to life. this site is really getting superficial. And I’m really done. C ya.
@Cilla848 Okay so, writing and music that we post would be something done by “professional fans”, so I don’t know what you’re trying to say other than you just don’t want to see anything made by me. I read the mockingjay.net inbox every day and we post what we think people will like. I don’t know who you are in email, but if you’ve sent anything we feel is newsworthy, trust me we’ve posted it.
@Crystal I’m saying non-professional fans are just as die hard as all the rest just that maybe they don’t have all the money to make a “quality” hunger games fan video. Non-professional fans aren’t fans who have been previously recognized by the Hunger Games world. Well You never told people that Jennifer Lawrence was nominated for 3 teen choice awards, which I put in the contact us box. I’ve submitted tons of art and ideas I would like to see on the site. I got a new email account just to try and contact the site because my old one wasn’t working. And ya know what? You really have no right to insult me. I’m so sick of people in this fan-base that think they are always the best. I am so sick of people like that. So you can post whatever you want, but it won’t change the fact that you’re just one of them.

Guys, this arguing is getting us nowhere. And what’s the gain? I, personally, agree with cilla848, but what you two think books are about are different. And it’s fine to have different thoughts about these things. And we should all be able to say what we want. But, insulting people and fighting about it won’t help you anywhere in life. So, please, just stop.

Cilla, are you crazy? Do you realize how boring Mockingjay.net would be if all they posted was news? THERE IS NO NEWS THIS WEEK. Posting about things that fans have created is really cool, and if you were a true Hunger Games fan, you would appreciate it. If you don’t like artwork or cooking from fans, maybe you should stop visiting Mockingjay.net and start getting your Hunger Games news from Entertainment Weekly or something.

@Crystal My friend (who wishes to remain anonymus) and I were chatting online and I was telling her about our conversation and they decided to come on over and give you a piece of their mind. And I agree. The last thing I wanted to do today was come home and fight with some people I don’t even know.

So you thought it looked good… until you found out who made them? I don’t get that logic. Either they’re good cookies or they’re bad cookies. Why does the person who created the cookies matter?

Or maybe it’s true? I don’t know the quality of what you submit to judge if it’s good or not, but some submissions to websites are great and some are good and some are so-so and some are terrible.
I don’t get the rage at “professional fans”; what does that MEAN anyway? You don’t want to see fanart from people… who are good at fanart?
Statistically speaking, SOMEONE is going to submit terrible fanart. Statistically speaking, SOMEONE will submit something that simply is not quality work and it will get rejected. Try not to totally dismiss the possibility that you might be that someone.
A lot of people seem to have this overinflated sense of “Everything I do is great” and they get all butthurt whenever someone else is better at something. In this case, making cookies.
Seems like that’s what’s going on here to me.
The cookies look good. The identity of the baker is irrelevant. If you submit work and it gets rejected, submit better work.
Cilla848 and I have come to an understanding via email, so we can put this to a rest. Whew!
@ crystal a LOT of people really like what you post. But, honestly the actual website is no place to get irratated on. ( I know I probably spelled that wrong but oh well!)
Aahh it kills me too soo much how she throws them out the window!!! Aahh!! But i am reading the books… Again for the fourth time and the cookies are chocolate chip cookies I thought..
You’ve GOT to make Finnick and Annie’s wedding cake!!! Or two burnt loaves of bread. Or that drink stuff the Capitol people drink to make themselves throw up…so they can eat more!! Bleh!! Or make a dish that looks like it could be served in District 13. Or you can make your own “Capitol Looking” food!! That would be awesome!!:)
