This is awesome!! I’m loving the little tweaks they are making….Seneca Crane’s beard, Effie’s eyelashes….a little weird and cool, but not *too* weird. Just different enough to imply this is not the America we all know. Love it.

And like another person said, buying this nail polish or these eyelashes is not supporting ACTUAL kid-on-kid killing. It’s cleverly supporting the movie. Which is FAKE. Yes, there are some comparisons to be made between us and the Capitol (which I think is the entire point of the books), but just because we don’t all hunt for our food and spend all our money on necessities doesn’t mean we are all like the Capitol citizens.

I personally like how they are going above and beyond with this movie. How cool is it that you can show up at the premier with Effie’s eyelashes? I love that you can get this stuff and immerse yourself just a little bit more in their world. Without actually killing anybody.

I agree that buying the cosmetics doesn’t actually mean that they would enjoy the real Hunger Games in Panem, but it does make us like the Capitol because of the cosmetics.

Wait… since this is “Capitol Colours”, would “color” in Panem be spelled “colour”?

OMG!!! my friend got me the lashes for an early christmas present!! aaahh! i probobly wont ever wear them . They’re in a plastic box that was for my bros signed baseball but i mean come on! Lashes need it more!

I love those lashes….on second thought I don’t *think* it’s Elizabeth Banks but it’s still so amazing! Do you think she wears these lashes in the film? I can’t wait to see her actually bizarre outfits!!!!!!! I also cant wait to wear that be-aye-UTIFUL nail polish:D

@Luis I’m not saying its not her because of her looks! Oh no no no of course not! Elizabeth Banks and this model are both gorgeous! No if it was Elizabeth Banks it would have her name written all over it like “sponsoring china glaze” or whatver…you know?

Also, I agree with Jess and MrsCrane as well. I think most of us are deluding ourselves into thinking we’re “above” most of the things that people in the Capitol represent in the books, but let’s face it, we live in the first world and I will be the first to admit that I have only a sliver of an idea of the horrible things that go on in the rest of the world, and in no way can I come even close to fixing that. Additionally, buying nail polish doesn’t make me evil, nor does it make anyone else evil. As much as I would like to think otherwise, consumerism is a daily part of my life, and I would be a hypocrite if I tried to pretend that I was above it. The poster looks great, and I don’t feel bad about saying I’d buy the nail polish

What’s wrong with the world???? Everyone is argueing over these stupid things! I’ll settle it!
1) We have comparisons to the Capital but we have characteristics the Districts have too.
2) Okay, everyone uses cosmetics in they’re lifetime. Are we all evil for that? Most definetly not!
3) I don’t know if that is Banks or not, does it matter? Is it the end of the world if it isn’t? Nope. It looks like EFFIE it is not Banks as the face it’s the character.
4) Personally, in some ways, I can see our Government going the way Panem is. But is it our faultbfor buying NAILPOLISH???
5) Amazing photo! Can’t wait for the Nailpolish to come out! Definetely wearing it to the premiere at my theater! If I can convince my parents to lemme buy it…

I’m not trying to be mean or snarky here, but I’m truly confused why people think this isn’t Elizabeth Banks. I keep looking at the picture, and it’s very obvious to me that it is her. Not that it matters that much, as Ani pointed out. But it’s like looking at the first picture we ever got of Jen as Katniss and wondering if it was actually Jen. I guess I just….don’t get it?

personally i prefer it when comments have discussion and debate, i don’t see it as arguing. it’s much better than just taking everything at face value and leaving a ton of superficial comments instead.

that’s why i like this website! the people that comment tend to say things that make me think (and so i’ll tolerate the dumb comments that come because they are outnumbered by the interesting ones).

How fun would it be to be the makeup artist who gets to do this?
