North Carolina School Performs ‘Hunger Games’ Dance
Thanks to an anonymous reader of ours for sending us this link to a pretty cool dance production by 150 students at a middle school in North Carolina, who did their entire performance based on The Hunger Games. The video is pretty long, about 17 minutes, but still cool to watch given that it’s such a big project and clearly took a great deal of effort. Props to them for showing their love for The Hunger Games like this!
it would have been better if it had been a junior high or high school. but for middle schoolers that was pretty good.
This was AMAZING! My favorite dance was, Rue’s Lullaby. I liked Katniss the best, and Prim was so cute! I hope the Hunger Games cast will be able to see this!

it was okay but they lacked emotion. that’s like the most basic element of performing. i think they could’ve done better-but that must’ve been hard with 150 kids.

that was really good!!! i’ve watched this a bunch of times and these guys are great with all that should go into concideration!! I loved especially “fire, the arena, RUE’S LULLABY and the coming home sequence” it was all wonderful and a joy to watch…. i loved the songs too!!! i wish that i could see the WHOLE THING, i thought it was that good!!!!!

for kids who only dance as an elective, it was good
i am a dancer, so I was excited to see this, but it disappointed me because they had little/no expression on their face. but you shouldn’t expect too much because it’s only a middle school elective. and it must’ve been hard to translate the story into a dance. overall, it’s was just okay. not horrible, but if they had more time, i’m sure they would’ve been able to clean it up more.

The kids who did this were in 6th to 8th grade and about half of them have never preformed let alone taken dancing class before, i thought that this was a wonderful performance and to all of you saying they lack emotion, you were not up front watching them dance, so you could hardly see they’re faces.
The reason there was 2 different peeta’s was because there were 2 casts of main characters. So this was only the higlight video, and some of the better filming jobs were from different casts. Thank you guys for watching what my school dance program did!
i was in this performance and it was alot of fun! for all of you saying that we had no emotion, you are wrong. you had to be there to see what was really going on. that video was not a good representation of what we did. if you want to see the real thing, we will mostly likely be performing again in march at davidson. we had lots of people that were in the audience, in tears. I have no problem with negative comments because you know what they say, HATERS GONNA HATE. but tone it down a bit becasue lots of the dancers in that show, like me are readng your comments. im sure that more information about the performance in march will be posted later. thank you to all those people that support us!
The little black haired girl was fantastic! Not Katniss though. She’s shit. Peeta was eh… go jump in a ditch. jk. he was actually pretty good. Gale’s kartwheel was shit. i could do better wih my eyes closed and so could and other gay bitch.

look, these kids CLEARLY worked hard and loved what they were doing. It says it was a middle school…not a professional level. I’m sure a lot of PROFESSIONAL dancers wouldn’t have done what those kids did. It was a huge task to recreate the amazing world of the hunger games through dance and I thought they did a spectacular job. I just wanted to see ALL of it, that’s how good it was. GREAT JOB KIDS!!!! KEEP DANCING!!!!

I danced in the show and to answer some of the questions, we really id work hard, and most of us had never taken a dance class before. Mrs. Keys, our dance teacher, worked so hard to put the show together.It was alot longer than the video, and some of the music was different. I had watched other classes practice, and it was a lot better in person than in the show. We are doing another Hunger Games Dance March 16 at Lake Forest Church. 6pm or 8pm. It cost $5 to get in as a fundraiser for our school. Hope you come!

Those are my friends you’re talking about, and with a name like buttbutt I would hardly be able to think that you’d have any taste in real dance. Second off the boy who played gale was trying to not do a good cartwheel. As for the rest of you guys posting negative comments, our school’s cast was between ages 11-14, also the girl who plays katniss is one of the best dancers that I know of and you could travel miles before refinding the amount of talent that she has. Lastly though sense you guys weren’t there in person you really have no point of reference for anything that we did, just by watching a video nobody exept for the people who were there. In person the emotion and passion in the dance brought the toughest people I know down to tears,. In other words you haters don’t any real way to judge because you guys can’t comare us to anything because nobody else has done this yet so remember that this might be as good as it gets for a dance interpretation of the hunger games internationally so STOP posting mean and negative comments. Thanks
