Gah this really is quite phenomenal. Her skin is exquisite, and lavender lipstick with periwinkle lip liner — not the easiest look to pull off.

Yet she does it absolutely perfectly here. She IS Effie. Well done, Ms. Banks, well done.

I particularly like what I’ve seen so far of the Capitol outfits. I always imagined that they didn’t all dress in freakish outlandish clothes. I mainly tried to see them from the eyes of the citizens of Panem, and thus Capitol people look outlandish to the citizens of Panem while wearing clothes we’d almost call normal runway couture, because most of the people of Panem have so little, and live so simply.

It reminds me of the Marie Antionette during the French Revolution. Their dresses and powdered wigs with birds nests and pearls are todays coture.
