![]() ![]() Here are more images from the upcoming March issue of Empire Magazine, which shows a fiery page with Katniss’ character poster pose and another of her standing by the fence. See new photos of the named tributes below the cut! See new photos of Marvel, Cato, Glimmer, Thresh, and Foxface! My favorite one is definitely Foxface! Sadly, no Clove. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

This is cool! I like the articles, though they’re not ENTIRELY accurate. Glimmer? Skilled with a bow? From what I read she’s incompetent. But nevertheless, this is good publicity. And I like the theme of disassociating with Twilight. |

looooooooovvve it!!!! amazing!!!<3 |
| by Riviera in January 27 - 7:10 pm |
I LOOOOVE GLIMMER’S! So amazing! |
| by Susie in January 27 - 7:25 pm |
Oh I love it this is so exciting! |
| by Clara in January 27 - 7:42 pm |
Oh my god, Katniss looks so.. Katniss by the fence. I just love these pictures, I started crying randomly when i saw them, can’t wait for seeing them in High-res, ooooh! |
| by Anonymous in January 27 - 7:46 pm |
They all look exactly how I dreamed they’d be! Katniss is the only exception, but I’m prepared to love Jennifer Lawrence for the sake of the books. |
| by Abigail in January 27 - 7:56 pm |
I love the first one so much! Katniss’s face looks exactly like I thought she would look! And I love the picture of Foxface in what looks like her interviews! It’s so amazing! |
| by Corine in January 27 - 8:00 pm |
Is it just me, or does Katniss look younger in this picture? More… Vulnerable. An Glimmer is absolutely beautiful, but her facial expression is kinda funny though! |
| by Lady Adeona in January 27 - 8:11 pm |
I’m actually a bit more interested in the tribute headshots than the new Katniss img. Nice to see a shot of Glimmer, even if she does look rather unrealistically snarky. In fact, I think Foxface and Glimmer’s expressions should be switched… |
| by march23rd in January 27 - 8:12 pm |
Love everything…except her pants. They just seem a little out of I place. idk why? |

“The Girl Who Played With Fire” seriously??? |
| by Corine in January 27 - 8:16 pm |
I wonder why there’s no Clove… We really haven’t seen a lot of her in the movie. Actually, correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think we’ve really seen Clove at all. |
| by Samantha in January 27 - 8:28 pm |
Glimmer isn’t supposed to have archery skill…just saying. |
| by fruity sugar in January 27 - 8:28 pm |
Where is my dear, sweet. sociopathic Clove? Other than that, the pictures are lovely. Especially Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss , but hey, no suprise there, right? |
| by none in January 27 - 8:43 pm |
EXCUSE ME?! Am i the only one who read the second poster,”Teens in peril. Love triangle…”are you kidding me?!THIS IS NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE!Can these people PLEASE get their facts right?! |
| by Liz in January 27 - 8:47 pm |
They keep emphasizing Foxface’s trap-making ability. I bet we’re going to see more from her than we saw in the books, and it’s going to include her building traps. |
| by Emily in January 27 - 8:48 pm |
OH… MY… GOD…. AWESOMEEE! |
| by Jessie in January 27 - 8:55 pm |
Actually, they ARE right about the love triangle. Peeta loves Katniss, and Gale loves Katniss. And what do three corners make? A triangle.. I just LOVE the image of Glimmer and her smirk.. It looks like a part when she intimidated someone, to me. 23rd of March is not coming Fast Enough!! D: |
| by Liz in January 27 - 9:00 pm |
Yeah, but the books aren’t necessarily ABOUT the love triangle to the same extent that Twilight was. Also, Katniss, especially in Catching Fire, is trying to decide more between the political ideologies that Peeta and Gale stand for rather than who she’d rather end up with. So promoting this book based on the love triangle is slightly disingenuous. |
| by adriana in January 27 - 9:07 pm |
twilight wannabe?!!? grrrr i hate when people compare it to stupid twilight :/ its sooo much better!! |
| by HGNM in January 27 - 9:37 pm |
OMG!! ALREDY PUT IT ON FACEBOOK THE EXPRESION OF JENIFER IS JUST AS IT DESCRIBES IN THE BOOK!!! LOVE IT! |
| by Hannah in January 27 - 9:46 pm |
I love how inoccent and small katniss seems by the fence! it’s sososos perfect! |
| by Kayla in January 27 - 10:02 pm |
SO NOT ANOTHER TWILIGHT |
| by lalaland in January 27 - 10:07 pm |
Katniss’ expression make me want to hug her and cry |
| by Melissa in January 27 - 10:08 pm |
It’s sad to admit this, but I tried clicking the “play button” on the new Katniss photo. Anyways, everyone looks amazing! Although I wish they took a photo of Rue from the interview, just to be consistent with the other interview shots and we’d get to see more, aha. |
| by Melissa in January 27 - 10:10 pm |
^ Backtracking on the interview consistency thing. Just realized most of them are from the training. Either way, new photos, woo! |
| by flyleaf in January 27 - 10:32 pm |
i totally love the look on katniss’s face in the shoot, and i love her clothes because they really emphasize the fact that she and her family are poor, and not on how good she looks…and yet another love from the twilight comparisons…because theres NO WAY u can compare twilight and the hunger games |
| by Emily in January 27 - 10:35 pm |
LOVE the photos of Foxface and Glimmer as they’re both the first we’ve ever seen of the characters! I think Glimmer’s facial expression is perfect! I mean she’s described as the most beautiful/sexy so she should have the confidence to totally rock the sass. Love all of them! |
| by Jenn in January 27 - 11:16 pm |
BRILLIANT. just brilliant. |
| by carla in January 27 - 11:27 pm |
i absolutely love the spotlight on the other tributes, and the pictures! they’re excellent! i love glimmer and cato’s the best. no clove, though? =( |
| by kp in January 27 - 11:48 pm |
The magazine is making a point that it is NOT like Twilight. It’s saying that the love triangle (and there is one, it may not be the main part of the story but it’s there) and the fact that it’s adapted from a popular young adult book are the only similarities. |
| by RT in January 28 - 12:25 am |
Im confused why they used “The Girl That Played With Fire” as apposed to “The Girl Who Was on Fire” any clarification? |
| by Jessie in January 28 - 12:29 am |
Yeah, I was trying to make a point, either if it is about it or not. To be honest I don’t see anything that’s related to Twilight in The Hunger Games. It’s more action and a lot better than Twilight. Sorry If I made you upset about the whole love triangle explanation, I was just making the point about Gale liking Katniss and Peeta liking Katniss. |
| by FireBeatsRoses in January 28 - 1:21 am |
“The Girl Who Played With Fire”?? Um… isn’t that a book in the “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” trilogy? Just clarifying, it’s kinda confusing b/c it’s an actual book. |
| by Tes in January 28 - 2:30 am |
Without the jacket the clothes kinda have a pirate feel to them with the stripped pants and the belt but still a great pic |
| by Catnip in January 28 - 3:17 am |
What?! The girl who plyed with fire? That’s already a book! Uh, come on people get it right! |
| by NatiMellark in January 28 - 5:06 am |
The jacket actually looks like something that could have belonged to her father in this picture…the other pictures always made it look so fitted but here it looks a lot baggier |
| by Rachel in January 28 - 7:04 am |
In regards to Glimmer… it does not say she’s skilled with a bow, just that she “nabs it” during the opening melee, which she does. On page 182 of THG, she gives it to Cato before he attempts to climb the tree holding Katniss after the Gamemakers’ fireball storm, proving that she did, in fact, get them at the Cornucopia. Nothing out of character or context there. |
| by Clara in January 28 - 8:04 am |
Also, Jennifer Lawrence is goooood! I can’t believe she’s like.. 20 or 21 when i see that picture of Katniss. First I didn’t believe she could make a good Katniss, but I guess i was wrong. |
| by Gayle in January 28 - 8:23 am |
It was mentioned in the book that Glimmer was very unskillful in archery……….. |
| by Megan in January 28 - 8:38 am |
I don think i would survive if they didnt post these amazing posts ! |

Where is Clove????? I would like to see an actual movie picture of her |

“The Girl Who Played with Fire” is the second book in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series! What the heck? |
| by Clove, Katniss, and Rue in January 28 - 11:26 am |
no!!!! WHERE’S MY CLOVE????? |
| by Ciara in January 28 - 11:51 am |
Just to clarify, UK magazines always tend to headline their articles with a preexisting pun, phrase, title etc. Empire consciously called the article “The Girl Who Played With Fire.” It’s not a mistake. For eg: Twilight article headline? “Reality Bites” Emma Watson interview headline? “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.” The editors know what they’re doing |
| by Christina in January 28 - 1:04 pm |
I can’t take my eyes off of that amazing fishbraid-hair of Glimmer….. |
| by Savanah in January 28 - 1:49 pm |
Just to clarify– when they say “special skills”, they mean “advantages”, right? I think that’s what they meant. |
| by Brianna in January 28 - 3:17 pm |
The girl who played with fire? Uh, no, the girl who was on fire! Get it right, no copyright. |
| by Mags in January 28 - 3:30 pm |
Leven Rambin, playing Glimmer is my cousin and I know she tried super hard to get everything perfect for the part! I am so proud of her! She is so beautiful and perfect for Glimmer |
| by Christine in January 28 - 4:33 pm |
Amazing! |
| by Tes in January 28 - 4:58 pm |
theres a shot of clove in the trailer standing next to Cato so probably would have used that pic for her anyway |
| by Savanah in January 28 - 8:30 pm |
@Tes Although it’s not a clear picture of her and you can’t see her face, you can see Clove throwing a knife the same time you see Marvel throw his spear! I’m pointing that out because I didn’t even notice it until someone on tumblr brought it up! |
| by Savanah in January 28 - 8:31 pm |
Oh, and I meant you can see that in the trailer. I probably should have added that in. |

Sometimes I get really disappointed with some o the stuff that shows up from the hunger games they always seem to get something wrongin them I try not to let it get to me but it’s hard for it not to like “the girl who played with fire” thing that’s not right at all and it bugs me every time they do get something wrong and It brings my hopes down for the movie a little less but the pictures are still great:) |
| by Yoanna in January 29 - 12:41 am |
Guys! The only time they mentioned Glimmer in the books was that she was the prettier tribute AND she had the bow that Katniss eventually got! That is why they put archery on there, we don’t know if she had the skills though… |
| by mintjellyfish in January 29 - 5:43 am |
I’m not too concerned with Glimmer and her archery skills. I’m more concerned about where they got that Foxface was good with making traps or throwing knives. Never in the book was it even hinted that she was good with either, only that Katniss feels “I’d find a knife in my back if I ally with her.” And where the hell is Clove? Why would you leave out the person that nearly kills the main character? |
| by Rae in January 29 - 12:56 pm |
Now this I like!!! |
| by Gracie in January 29 - 2:32 pm |
Oh. My. Gale. They all look AH-MAZING!!!!!!!! I love Glimmer’s expression, and I think they picked the perfect people to play in the movie. MARCH NEEDS TO COME A WHOLE LOT FASTER!!!!!!!!!!! |
| by BellaBells321 in January 29 - 4:51 pm |
i was reading Tiger Beat magazine, and there was this Hunger Games part in there, when i read it, it said the Gale’s home was District 11. that pretty much pissed me off. GET IT RIGHT TIGER BEAT |
| by goooooooo in January 29 - 5:55 pm |
Waaaaiiiitt aaa mminnuutte???? What’s with Glimmer and the whole braid thing going on. |
| by Hannah Bethany in January 29 - 8:50 pm |
Ohh, I love how it says that Thresh refused to join the Career pack. We are to expect things that we didn’t know happened in the book (but most likely happened) since it was on Katniss’ point of view. |
| by kizzy in January 29 - 11:59 pm |
Everyone seems to be having the same reaction as me. I just love loooove that first picture. I looks so real! The whole look of Katniss in that, her expression, it’s breathtaking in a scary way. Jennifer looks a lot younger there too. She defiantly could pass as a girl in my grade. |
| by MARTSMELL in January 30 - 5:28 pm |
I am so stunned. I can’t believe that Jen could pull off a face like that, so serious and right before the reaping, most likely. I mean, really, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that everyone should be crying with happiness at all these new pictures. All we need now are more songs for the soundtrack. |
| by MARTSMELL in January 30 - 5:29 pm |
Glimmer’s “special skill” is NOT archery, btw. Remember “incompetent with a bow” anyone? |
| by Liz in January 30 - 7:38 pm |
They changed Glimmer’s skill level with a bow, it’s not a huge deal. |
