Here are more images from the upcoming March issue of Empire Magazine, which shows a fiery page with Katniss’ character poster pose and another of her standing by the fence. See new photos of the named tributes below the cut!
See new photos of Marvel, Cato, Glimmer, Thresh, and Foxface! My favorite one is definitely Foxface! Sadly, no Clove.

This is cool! I like the articles, though they’re not ENTIRELY accurate. Glimmer? Skilled with a bow? From what I read she’s incompetent. But nevertheless, this is good publicity. And I like the theme of disassociating with Twilight.

Oh my god, Katniss looks so.. Katniss by the fence. I just love these pictures, I started crying randomly when i saw them, can’t wait for seeing them in High-res, ooooh!

They all look exactly how I dreamed they’d be! Katniss is the only exception, but I’m prepared to love Jennifer Lawrence for the sake of the books.

I love the first one so much! Katniss’s face looks exactly like I thought she would look! And I love the picture of Foxface in what looks like her interviews! It’s so amazing!

An Glimmer is absolutely beautiful, but her facial expression is kinda funny though!

I’m actually a bit more interested in the tribute headshots than the new Katniss img. Nice to see a shot of Glimmer, even if she does look rather unrealistically snarky. In fact, I think Foxface and Glimmer’s expressions should be switched…
Foxface and Marvel’s appear to be from the interviews, and the rest I think are in the training center.

It would be awesome if not for the fact that that is the name of the Stieg Larsson novel, right?
“The Girl Who Was On Fire” sounds just as awesome and it is entirely HG. With the current title, some people might start accusing HG of copying. And that’s the LAST thing we need. I am right?

I wonder why there’s no Clove… We really haven’t seen a lot of her in the movie. Actually, correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think we’ve really seen Clove at all.

They keep emphasizing Foxface’s trap-making ability. I bet we’re going to see more from her than we saw in the books, and it’s going to include her building traps.
Also, they could have made Glimmer better at bow and arrow for the movie. She is a career, after all.

Actually, they ARE right about the love triangle. Peeta loves Katniss, and Gale loves Katniss. And what do three corners make? A triangle.. I just LOVE the image of Glimmer and her smirk.. It looks like a part when she intimidated someone, to me. 23rd of March is not coming Fast Enough!! D:

Yeah, but the books aren’t necessarily ABOUT the love triangle to the same extent that Twilight was. Also, Katniss, especially in Catching Fire, is trying to decide more between the political ideologies that Peeta and Gale stand for rather than who she’d rather end up with. So promoting this book based on the love triangle is slightly disingenuous.

Anyways, everyone looks amazing! Although I wish they took a photo of Rue from the interview, just to be consistent with the other interview shots and we’d get to see more, aha.

i totally love the look on katniss’s face in the shoot, and i love her clothes because they really emphasize the fact that she and her family are poor, and not on how good she looks…and yet another love from the twilight comparisons…because theres NO WAY u can compare twilight and the hunger games

LOVE the photos of Foxface and Glimmer as they’re both the first we’ve ever seen of the characters! I think Glimmer’s facial expression is perfect! I mean she’s described as the most beautiful/sexy so she should have the confidence to totally rock the sass. Love all of them!

The magazine is making a point that it is NOT like Twilight. It’s saying that the love triangle (and there is one, it may not be the main part of the story but it’s there) and the fact that it’s adapted from a popular young adult book are the only similarities.

Yeah, I was trying to make a point, either if it is about it or not. To be honest I don’t see anything that’s related to Twilight in The Hunger Games. It’s more action and a lot better than Twilight. Sorry If I made you upset about the whole love triangle explanation, I was just making the point about Gale liking Katniss and Peeta liking Katniss.

“The Girl Who Played With Fire”?? Um… isn’t that a book in the “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” trilogy? Just clarifying, it’s kinda confusing b/c it’s an actual book. Katniss is the girl on fire. I love Jennifer’s facial expression, she doesn’t look fierce and in her twenties, she looks vulnerable and around 16.

The jacket actually looks like something that could have belonged to her father in this picture…the other pictures always made it look so fitted but here it looks a lot baggier

In regards to Glimmer… it does not say she’s skilled with a bow, just that she “nabs it” during the opening melee, which she does. On page 182 of THG, she gives it to Cato before he attempts to climb the tree holding Katniss after the Gamemakers’ fireball storm, proving that she did, in fact, get them at the Cornucopia. Nothing out of character or context there.

Also, Jennifer Lawrence is goooood! I can’t believe she’s like.. 20 or 21 when i see that picture of Katniss. First I didn’t believe she could make a good Katniss, but I guess i was wrong.

Just to clarify, UK magazines always tend to headline their articles with a preexisting pun, phrase, title etc. Empire consciously called the article “The Girl Who Played With Fire.” It’s not a mistake. For eg: Twilight article headline? “Reality Bites” Emma Watson interview headline? “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.” The editors know what they’re doing

@Tes Although it’s not a clear picture of her and you can’t see her face, you can see Clove throwing a knife the same time you see Marvel throw his spear! I’m pointing that out because I didn’t even notice it until someone on tumblr brought it up!

Sometimes I get really disappointed with some o the stuff that shows up from the hunger games they always seem to get something wrongin them I try not to let it get to me but it’s hard for it not to like “the girl who played with fire” thing that’s not right at all and it bugs me every time they do get something wrong and It brings my hopes down for the movie a little less but the pictures are still great:)

Guys! The only time they mentioned Glimmer in the books was that she was the prettier tribute AND she had the bow that Katniss eventually got! That is why they put archery on there, we don’t know if she had the skills though…

I’m not too concerned with Glimmer and her archery skills. I’m more concerned about where they got that Foxface was good with making traps or throwing knives. Never in the book was it even hinted that she was good with either, only that Katniss feels “I’d find a knife in my back if I ally with her.” And where the hell is Clove? Why would you leave out the person that nearly kills the main character?

Ohh, I love how it says that Thresh refused to join the Career pack. We are to expect things that we didn’t know happened in the book (but most likely happened) since it was on Katniss’ point of view.

Everyone seems to be having the same reaction as me. I just love loooove that first picture. I looks so real! The whole look of Katniss in that, her expression, it’s breathtaking in a scary way. Jennifer looks a lot younger there too. She defiantly could pass as a girl in my grade. I’m so thrilled with the way they are presenting this movie. With, as far as I can see, the accuracy with the book and the feel of The Hunger Games. I’m getting more and more antsy as March draws nearer! I hope this movie is just as ah-mazing as I’m expecting it to be. I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up… but at this point, how can’t I? XD haha ahhh okay *goes to bed*

I am so stunned. I can’t believe that Jen could pull off a face like that, so serious and right before the reaping, most likely. I mean, really, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that everyone should be crying with happiness at all these new pictures. All we need now are more songs for the soundtrack.
And yeah, I haven’t seen some of those pictures. I haven’t seen ANY of them except for the Cato one. I wonder where they got them…
