Mockingjay.net Has a New Layout!

omg i love the layout!!!!

i got here last night b4 u announced it and was like what happended to mockingjay.net??? but i really like itt!!!

I really like it! I know when I think of mockingjay.net I think of light blue but I know I’ll get used to this. I like that the picture at the top keeps changing. The only thing I’m not sure about it the layout of the post itself. Maybe if it was written in a different font and the title was a bit bolder it might be better. I’m not sure if you can change the background colour of the box that the post goes in but if you can’t its fine. Those are the only nitpicks I have. I really like the new layout and its good even without those changes!

I was on right when it changed, so i thought i was going nuts. And then it wouldn’t let me see or comment on anything until this morning

It deffinately caught me by surprise but I kind of did like the old one better. I was one too when it changed

I love it! John did a great job! Always loved him on Pottercast! It looks more professional. Not that it didin’t look nice before, but you could tell it was a fanpage..

Besides you only might not like it cuz its new.. When you get used to this you’ll change your mind…

This actually gave me the chills.. Like there’s a new era or somtehing.. The movie is coming out soon, the website changes.. NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME :p

i think you should change the jay in mocking jay to light blue so it has a little bit of blue

I’m not in love with it. It looks a little fan made and all over the place. I would prefer one true to the book than to the movie

It’s okay…I think that the fonts used for news titles/text could be different. The current font looks pretty generic and ugly. Yeah, I liked the old one better. Sorry, guys.

I adore the new layout! I like how dark it is but is there a way to make the mockingjay a shade of Gold? That would really make the mockingjay stand out a bit more but other than that I really do like the new layout.

As someone who has her own website, and who has watched it go through different ‘changes’ over the years, I can tell you that most people aren’t fond of change at first, but eventually grow to love it.

I adore it. It’s dark. It’s edgy. I think it looks spectacular, and i don’t find it difficult to navigate at all.

Wonderfully executed, ya’ll.

For those of you who think it’s confusing — What is confusing about it? We want your feedback on what specifics should be tweaked.

Hey Mockingjay admins, the new layout looks nice, but just an FYI, you cannot use the comment rating now that you changed the layout. You can’t rate comments and you can’t see hidden comments (for the record, I’m running a Firefox browser).

Yeah I have the same problem as Kitty. Also, I like the old theme better. A lot of the fansites are pushing this dark, black, edgy theme. Mockingjay was different… And I loved the blue. It represented what Mockingjay was, and represented the book as well.

@Beth: I kinda find the new layout a little confusing too and, I guess, chaotic maybe? I don’t know, there are too many things drawing my eye. For example, it’s hard to tell where one post ends and another begins. So, you could try making the titles of each post in a bigger font so there is a clear delineation between posts. I dunno, I liked the simple design of the old one better, although I REALLY like the top and how the center picture changes with a new page. Very nice.

Maybe its just the overload of vids, but it doesn’t feel very smooth. Again, the overwhelming feeling I get (after looking at the top) is confusion. And I really hate the font, it’s hard to read actually.

Loving the new layout!

I like the design, but I think there should be an option to customize a theme for “Mockingjay” with blue and white instead of orange and black, sort of like how Mugglenet has different themes to choose from. Personally, I liked how the old layout , it was simple but had the Mockingjay picture and blue, and it made Mockingjay.net different from other fansites that were primarily orange and black.
Also, the one thing about this design that’s really bugging me that could be changed is on the right side, where it has a “Links” list, the font and layout of the list looks a lot like an ad, and honestly, I thought it was an ad at first. The rest of the side, like the quote and the podcast part, look fine, but the links are something that I would personally want to change.
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something I don’t like about the main section for posts. It’s just something about the way the colours and the shading look, it seems…crowded, maybe? I don’t know how to describe it. Anyway, I realize that that wasn’t a very helpful point, but yeah.
Also, I’m having the same problem as Kitty and Hen, the comment rating isn’t working. I’m using a Safari browser, if that’s any help.

You know what? I actually like it. I mean, It was nice before too. But, The whole blue page used to look very bland it ,doesn’t used to pick up the contrast.
