‘The Hunger Games’ Grosses $189.93M in First Week
While a hard number for Friday’s earnings isn’t available yet, according to BoxOffice.com, ‘The Hunger Games’ drew in a total of $189.93 million dollars in it’s first seven days. Projected to dominate this coming weekend in the box office, that number gives it seventh place in first week starts of all time.
For the week The Hunger Games grossed a simply massive $189.93 million. That was 29.5 percent stronger than the $146.63 million one-week start of Alice in Wonderland and represented the seventh largest unadjusted seven-day start of all-time. Making this week’s performance even sweeter for the film and Lionsgate was the relatively modest price-tag of The Hunger Games by Hollywood event film standards.
