Funtactix Worked with Suzanne Collins on ‘The Hunger Games Adventures’
As many of us eagerly await the promised official Map of Panem in the Facebook game The Hunger Games Adventures, currently in open beta, here’s a bit of news that will delight many of you: the game’s developers worked closely with Suzanne Collins to create the game.
“This game is a living, breathing thing that we’re updating all the time with all types of events,” said Casey Dickinson, marketing director, Funtactix. “It’s a great vehicle to keep fans engaged in new content in between movie releases. In many ways, this game is the evolution of Hollywood-based games. The traditional console model of licensing a movie doesn’t really work well any more. The development cycles take years, twice the length of the production cycle of movie. For us, this free-to-play experience is the best because it’s open to all the fans and it offers them cool content.”

“We’re focusing on key themes from the book like friendship, collaboration and trust,” said Glassenberg. “We tie into social game mechanics with things you can ask your friends for and players benefit from inviting friends into the game world to check out their custom forest area. We’ve taken a lot of fun game elements form MMOs and casualized them. Instead of coordinating with ten friends to play at the same time, players can work together to play asynchronously.”

I’d really like a hunger games game with fighting, not a boring “friendship” based game as the makers of this game call it.

I like the game but they really need to update it, I’m level 12 and can go no farther now.

Kim – same here, although I am having a bit of trouble with the cabin at the moment, it’s not giving out Muse >:( This is driving me mad, especially as you have to wait 12 hours for it to spawn again!! They are supposed to be releasing new quests etc every week.
Does anyone think we’ll get to see other districts, the Capitol, or the arena in THG Adventures?
