‘The Hunger Games’ Katniss Fathead Review & Winner

Last week saw the conclusion of our Life-Size ‘The Hunger Games’ Wall Decal Giveaway from Fathead.com, with a whopping 730 entries on comments alone!! You guys really want one of these REALLY. BIG. decals, don’t you? And admittedly, if you don’t win, it seems like quite a bit to pay for one, doesn’t it? ($100) I thought the same thing at first.

The folks over at Fathead were nice enough to send us one of their Fatheads to review and I picked the Katniss one, wanting to stick her on the wall and scare the crap out of my family. Alas, what arrived wasn’t quite what I was expecting and my plans to give this one away after getting some giggles out of it were shot to pieces when I saw how it came.

Yes, that’s right, we’re going to give away TWO Fatheads! One of you lucky readers will be winning our original Fathead giveaway and another will be winning the Katniss one I’m reviewing today.

The first thing you need to know about these “REAL. BIG.” decals is that Fathead isn’t kidding when they say it’s real big. You also aren’t only getting the Katniss decal (which is what I thought), you get a total of twelve decals including some really cool looking new artwork of Katniss. I mean, a lot of you commented saying you wanted to get the Hunger Games logo or the Katniss Takes Aim mural, but as you can see, this Katniss one alone provides you with all three of those.

Here’s a photo of the entire thing, which is a whopping 80 inches tall. I taped it to my wall and it was almost a foot and a half taller than me. My little boy came by and stopped dead in his tracks, yelling out, “WHOA!!” when he saw it. It’s massive!

Anyway, back to why I didn’t think I could stick her on my wall before sending off again to someone, it’d obviously be really hard to get that Katniss cutout back into the paper and rolled up again nicely.

With regards to size and image quality, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth there. Katniss is ginormous and the wall decals are removable and reusable, so the only problem I can see is not having enough wall space to put all this stuff.

Anyway, without further ado, our first winner of the decal of her choice is: Rae! Rae chose Peeta:

A life size peeta would be amazing. First of all because all my friends keep saying he is really short but I’m not that tall so I can prove that we are a perfect height. Second he is an amazing actor. Third Katniss was another choice but then I can’t pretend that I’m Katniss so no fun. Lastly, Peeta is amazing in so many ways…man

Our second winner, who will receive the Katniss decal I took photos of is Nhu Nguyen, who loves Katniss!

I would pick Katniss Everdeen.
First of all, I have a huge lady crush on Jennifer Lawrence :”>
Secondly, I love Katniss Everdeen, she’s a symbol of women’s reign, liberty, human rights, and courageous. She’s my heroine.
In addition, Katniss’s pose is very cool and it would be fun to put it in my room: “How dare you enter my room. Imma shoot you!”
