District 12

Henry River Mill Village, where the scenes for District 12 were shot, will be featured on SyFy’s Hollywood Treasure show on June 5, 2012 at 10 PM ET/PT.

Series star Joe Maddalena travels to North Carolina and acquires the auction rights to the Henry River Mill Village property, which is valued in excess of $1.2 million, during the Tuesday, June 5 episode airing at 10PM (ET/PT).

The Henry River Mill Village, a 1920s, 72-acre abandoned mill town located in North Carolina, exists exactly as seen in the blockbuster movie, from the bakery owned by Peeta Mellark’s family to the house where Katniss Everdeen and her sister Prim lived.

Are you all going to watch that episode? I’d never heard of the show until they bought the place, so it should be interesting! They auction off stuff, so did anyone living in the area hear about their auction? Did you go?
