Rumor: Garrett Hedlund Auditioned for Finnick
It’s been a quiet week in rumors for Finnick, with there being six whole days since the last rumor hit the press waves, but today ends that silence with Lainey’s latest gossip.
Catching Fire update:
I’m told that Hedlund auditioned for the part of Finnick in Catching Fire for director Francis Lawrence about 10 days ago. It went very well. No final decisions yet but interest in Armie Hammer seems to have waned since Hammer wasn’t as enthusiastic about it as Lawrence was about him. Am told they’re still seeing people. But their priority right now isn’t so much casting as it is about getting the script in better shape.
Keep in mind that this is gossip. We’ve seen a lot of silliness happen where people read rumors, then spit them back out as fact. Still, I’m sure it excites all the Hedlund fans out there, myself included!

I actually wouldn’t mind this he is in the right age range, has the appropriate body type and is a decent actor.
I’m a dude…so I’m not really gonna lose sleep over who they pick. Finnick is a role for the girls as it is…I mean his devotion to Annie is a reason why I like him so much, so I think Hedlund is a great choice. I mean, he looks the part and I can see him playing a sincere role like that. Other guys I’ve heard, Armie Hammer, Kellan Lutz, etc…I just couldn’t see it.
