Mia Wasikowska Not In the Running for Johanna Mason in ‘Catching Fire’
Entertainment Weekly has just confirmed through her representation that Mia Wasikowska is not in the running for the role of Johanna Mason in ‘Catching Fire,’ despite previous reports. She was never approached for the part and wouldn’t be able to be involved in the project, due to her current schedule.
That’s too bad, she looked like a good Johanna!!
Just when I finally started to think she would be great as Johanna >.<

I wanted her as Johanna. Thats to bad because she would have been good at playing her. I just want to know who is playing who. Im sick of these rumors.
I never had a huge opinion on this one way or the other except that she looks really young. I always pictured Johanna being a few years older. I think she’s only like 2 years older than Jennifer Lawrence according to IMDB. I did like her in The Kids are All Right but it was just the age thing throwing me off.

I think she would have made a great Johanna. I like that short hair she’s sporting in that pic.
I thought she would’ve been great. Added some cool touches to Johanna’s character

At first I was kind of iffy on her being Johanna, but with the short hair, she looks pretty damn good.

I’ll admit that I am bummed that she won’t be joining the cast.
I normally don’t get attached to fan or media castings because it’s all wishing and usually leads to disappointment but Entertainment Weekly totally ruined me with this role. They mentioned her in an article as an outside the box suggestion just as I was about to read ‘Catching Fire’ and it stuck.
Oh well.
Kinda glad, I have to say. Just from pure looks she doesn’t fit my mental image.
I just hope they cast someone who can act, at this point, and that will put their heart into it.
