Rumor: Kevin Nash Claims to be in Talks for Role in ‘Catching Fire’

chaff or brutus maybe ? thats what i think, or plutarch,

No offense to him but I hope that if he does get a part that he does some more research on the books/story. I feel like if he’s in talks for a role he should at least know enough information about the books to know if his character survives or not.

I’m thinking Brutus. Since Chaff is black in the books (He has the same dark skin as Rue and Thresh). I could definitely see him as Brutus looks wise, don’t know about acting ability though.

I think he could be Romulus Thread, or maybe Brutus.

yeah, i’m thinking brutus, most likely. he looks the part as far as i’m concerned– and brutus probably won’t get much focus, so i guess i could see why they’re not looking at raw acting talent there. as a former wrestler he can probably pull off some really impressive action in the fight scenes.

(sucks for him, though… i’m pretty sure whichever role he lands, it won’t be recurring… )

He probably just auditioned for any role because he says he hopes to get a recurring role, so he will come back in Mockingjay. But I think he he would make a good Brutus looks-wise..

Someone in the comments mention he could be Romulus Thread, and now that I think about it he is as close as possible to the one I imagined.

Yeah, I could see him as a tribute, like Brutus, but I can also see him as Romulus Thread. I can see him as Boggs, but, he wouldn’t be auditioning for Boggs because he doesn’t appear until Mockingjay.

Sir, if what you say is true, you are no doubt playing a victor who most likely dies. I see maybe Brutus…not sure. Either he’s being vague b/c he has to be or doesn’t seem to know what he is talking about at all. Anyways, would love to see Idris Elba play Chaff, could totally see him in that role. But I think he’ll be shooting when they film.

Brutus, it has to be. Yesterday when I was entering the Catching Fire Casting Predictions Contest I was thinking about googling wrestlers who were going into acting to see if I could find a Brutus, but oh well too late xD I kinda hope he gets the role, he seems so fitting. Even though I had pictured Gerard Butler.

I can see him as Brutus. I think he fits the part really well…not sure about his acting skills though…:)

Romulus Thread definitely comes to mind when I look at him, and since we don’t really know what happens to Thread when D12 is bombed, maybe he was dropping us a wee bit of a hint

I think Brutus or Thread. I can get the mental image of him whipping Liam for poaching. But i could also see him as a lumbering man from Distict 2

PSH… shouldn’t he know who he auditioned for? Also, Lionsgate has been tight lipped about their casting for THGCF, I bet him running his mouth won’t sit well with them.

Hm. I could picture him as Boggs, but that doesn’t make much sense because Boggs doesn’t show up at all in Catching Fire. Although, I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if this movie showed some cameos of characters not seen until Mockingjay, like Coin or Boggs. My guess is that he’ll be Thread or one of the tributes in the Quell with bit parts, like Brutus or Blight. If he was a professional wrestler, it would simply make more sense to me for him to play Brutus. I agree with “Julia ” above, that he should read the books if he wants the part offered to him. That’s important, and shows good form. Plus fans might get a smidge angry if he doesn’t.

I’d forgotten about Thread. He could do that too I guess. I like him better as Brutus though he just looks like he would volunteer to enter the arena and kill people

Probably Brutus or Thread. Probably not Chaff, I dunno if he would fit well in District 11. The image of him kissing Katniss is not sitting well with me either.

I like the suggestion about Romulus Thread too, that was a good one. Although I’m not sure that Thread will actually be cast persay, as in named, they could quite easily just have a peacekeeper whip Gale. I don’t hold hope for getting a Darius or any peacekeepers we ‘recognise’.

OMG I swear when I saw him I thought: He’s Boggs. Well, he’s more or less how I pictured the character, so let’s say that if he doesn’t get any role for Catching Fire, I hope they call him to play Boggs in Mockingjay :3

Thread. Though its probably not it since he apparently wants to be in Mockingjay too, I could totally see him as Thread.

Perhaps they will have Boggs in the hovercraft at the very end of the movie and he will play Boggs.
