Jacqueline Emerson Joins ‘Son of the South’
Our Foxface is moving on to big things – Jackie Emerson is set to star in a new indie movie titled ‘Son of the South,’ which will be directed by Barry Alexander Brown and produced by Spike Lee according to Variety. I’m very excited to see the new actors from the first film use their major boost the franchise has given them, to move on to awesome careers!
[Son of the South] will be based on Bob Zellner’s autobiography “The Wrong Side of Murder Creek,” which was published by New South Books. Tome chronicles the white author’s life in Alabama, where he grew up as the son of a minister and grandson of a KKK member before joining the Civil Rights Movement.
Spall will play Zellner, while [Jackie] Emerson will play his fiancee, Carol Anne. Supporting cast includes Marianne Jean Baptiste, Lou Gossett Jr., Clint Dyer and Saskia Reeves. Chaka Forman is set to play his own father, civil rights leader Jim Forman.
