Trevor Donovan Announces He Will NOT Be Playing Finnick

I love this person. He’s someone who I wish would of been Finnick. Someone who loves the series

I think Ryan Lochte would make a wickedtastic Finnick. SO HOT!!! Too bad he’s a professional, Olympic swimmer instead of an actor. :’(

As I said before, I really do feel they have Finnick or know who they want and we’re just waiting. Unfortunate for him…..he was second for me after Garrett Hedlund of course.

I doubt it means that Finnick has been cast, it’s probably just the end of the game for him, he got kicked out of the running.

Lol, Lochte would be a good Finnick (if you judged by looks alone, of course!). Well, actually who knows if he has any acting ability.

As for Trevor, I am a little disappointed he’s out. He was pretty hot.

I love Trevor Donovan and am very sad he’s not Finnick. He was my mind Finnick while reading for Catching Fire and Mockingjay

@yasmeen same here I pictured him. He was so good and he loves the series so much, I regret it couldn’t be him. But all for the best I’m sure that they’ll choose the best Finnick. Sounds exciting, from Plutarch to Johanna, and now it seems we’re going on to Finnick

Thank God, because I think he looks too much like a beach boy, very different to the way I imagined Finnick

I think, personally, that trevor looked too old anyway. Regardless, i’m just glad that GRANT GUSTIN could still be Finnick! Obviously, that’s who I’m rooting for!!!!!!

What a gracious statement. His disappointment is clear but he handles it beautifully. I wish him well in his future pursuits.

i wasn’t rooting for him or anything, but it’s very nice of him to let people know instead of milking the process for all the attention he could get. it’s also nice to hear he still appreciates the books and the character despite the fact that he was rejected for the role. very well-handled as far as PR goes.

i don’t think this means they’ve already cast someone (they could’ve just taken THIS guy out of the running and still have a few others lined up), but either way i just want them to confirm something soon! we’re going crazy here.

So far I haven’t been so concerned with how the actors look but seeing him I think he does completely have the Finnick look.

Kudos to him for taking it well.

@SPM and @carla – Completely agree, very nice of him to let everyone know and very well handled. He wasn’t my first pick for Finnick but I do hope he gets some big roles in the future.

I also don’t think it necessarily means Finnick is cast, perhaps more just down to a couple of actors having final callbacks. I wonder if any of them have had a callback to do a scene with Jena as Johanna? (assuming she will accept/has accepted the role)

As a complete aside – does Trevor have Aussie friends? I don’t think I’ve ever heard an American say they’re a “true blue” fan of something lol

@SPM Yes its certainly a nice statement.

But I feel this confirms we will get a MAN to play Finnick. If appearances are to be kept, whoever plays Finnick should look the same or slightly older than Jena Malone’s age.

Classy gent. Trevor Donovan would of made a great Finnick. Maybe he can still be in it, perhaps Gloss.

He´s very gracious in his statement, that´s very endearing. from what he says in it, i get they haven´t cast anyone yet, they´re just narrowing things down. i guess this kind of confirms Alan Ritchson is/was in the running as well, their names were mentioned in an article a while back, along with Lucas Till, but Till´s rep denied he was in talks for the role. I am all for a man-Finnick, not a boy-Finnick, here´s hope that´s what lionsgate & co. are looking for.

Being in show biz, this means one of two things. Either a)they’ve made their final decision, or b)they’re still in callbacks and have it narrowed down to a few. Fingers crossed for official news!

Hey, I am sad to hear that his running for Finnick will be over, but if they think there is someone who would better play Finnick then find him. This series is my life. I relate everything to the Hunger Games with my #1 fan buddy. I can’t wait to find out who plays Finnick and Johanna.
