THR Chats with Willow Shields at Comic-Con 2012
Willow has been out and about a fair bit lately (which we love!), and during Comic Con The Hollywood Reporter also sat down to chat with her, asking Willow how she views Primrose’s role as the catalyst for a lot of the story:
THR: Your character way is sort of responsible for what happens to Katniss. How much are you able to be aware of the impact your character has?
Shields: I actually never really thought of it. Like, I’ve thought Prim is the reason that Katniss went into the games, but I didn’t think of it as a bad thing. It’s because of me she’s going into these games, but it’s because of me she goes into the games and good things happen to her too, so I don’t know. It’s interesting to think about that, but I haven’t really done a lot of that.
She also shares some more info on how close her relationship with Jennifer Lawrence was:
THR: How much of a family were you and Jennifer Lawrence when you were off camera? Was the sister relationship kind of the same when you weren’t filming?
Shields: Yeah, we were both like sisters on set. We were so close. It was so hot outside that we would be drinking so much water, and if there wasn’t enough water bottles around, we’d be drinking out of the same water bottle – that’s how close me and Jennifer were.

Gosh, Willow is really gorgeous.
Yes, absolutely striking. Especially with those huge, uniquely colored eyes. She should do more photoshoots, or even get into modeling work.
It’s hard to believe that Willow Sheilds is Prim, they look so different. But not as different as Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket.
She’s a better actress than a model, besides what do models do? Prance around a cat walk?
@Makayla – she’s a fantastic actress, better than Jen IMO. Why can’t she do both?
Willow and her twin sister did, in fact, get their start doing modeling.
She needs to lay off the makeup…. I’m her age and I just wear a little bit eyeliner and blush.
This looks like a photocall, though, and I wouldn’t expect anyone to lay off the makeup for those.
@Catnip I don’t think she’s wearing too much…Maybe it’s just me, but it looks like she’s only wearing lipgloss & mascara. Your only 12 and you wear eyeliner!?

do you guys think that drinking out of the same water bottle makes you close? I’ve drank out of peoples water bottles that I dont even like but I was thirsy, i just dont think it makes you close… but thats just me what do you guys think??

@catpiss: well, i only share a drink with my parents, and if i did have a sibling, i would share with them as well, but i don’t share with anyone else- not even my best friends
@SPM – She is striking, for me it is her eyes, as you said they are just so uniquely coloured and quite intense. I’m sure there’ll be many great photo shoots to come as she grows up, really looking forward to more principal photography in character, and also the numerous shoots they’ll do whilst filming (plus it’s great to have some more nice pictures of her – there weren’t many around even up to a couple of months ago)
@catpiss – I don’t share a water bottle with anyone I’m not close to, so I would consider that a sign of strong friendship and trust.
@ Paige…… Yes I wear like not even noticeable amount of eyeliner…… Willow looks pretty I this pic but maybe she just needs to be a bit more natural….. Im 12 and from WV
Well she’s looks like she’s wearing brown tones. I like when she is simple…. I’m 12 and I’m not wearing eyeshadow until I’m like 20 lol
