Jena Malone is “Super Excited” for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
Last night, the folks at E! caught up with Jena Malone at a party and asked about her recent casting as Johanna Mason in next year’s ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’.
“I’m super excited,” Malone [said] at last night’s Beverly Hills party for Dannijo & Tucker Tea. “It’s going to be amazing.”
When asked whether she’s read the books, she replied that she read them all last year.
“I read the whole series over a weekend when I had a wisdom tooth out,” she said. “I was in bed looking for something to read and my little sister recommended it like a year and a half ago, so she was like, ‘You have to read it! You have to read it!’ And so I’m glad I finally did and I loved it.”

I love that jena is johanna, but I do wish she would smile a bit more in pictures! Her teeth are pretty much perfect, so show them off!!! I had to have braces, so closed-mouth smiling annoys me

@Finnick_FanGurl – Totally off topic but I know exactly what you mean, I had braces when I was younger and hated them, took me years to ‘learn’ how to smile showing teeth again after I had them taken off.
@Tash – OMG, I so well remember the days of smiling with my hand over my mouth when I had braces. It’s a hard habit to break.

I didn’t know who Jena Malone was until she got the role of Johanna. All I think is that she should’ve kept her hair black. Also, not very many people ‘smile’ anymore. Most make a ‘duck face’…lol…I have never gotten braces but I have a few friends that did. So, I kind of understand. P.S. I have read every book three times…

@SPM – Absolutely, practically all the pics of me around then are closed mouth smiling or with my hand up there. Plus I still chew on the sides of my mouth right up the back lol Braces, they give you great teeth (although mine weren’t that bad to start with) but leave you with awful habits!!
I’m sure we’ll see plenty of Jena’s teeth though

I have braces, getting them off soon. I’ll practice smiling while showing my teeth.LOL. I’m so glad that someone who was cast in THG movi is showing off their excitment!

@Khanster – Heheh, no, not at all! I was actually wondering do they order in a heap more copies of the book and have them all over set everywhere, no doubt with pencil underlines and post-it notes all through them for reference
@Tash – wonder how much one of those editions would sell for – the actual book/trilogy belonging to an actor who played in the movie, marked up with his or her notes as you describe. I think that would intrigue me more than a copy signed by Collins, because it would be really interesting to see how an actor whose portrayal I love *coughJoshcough* thinks about a character I love.
@SPM – Owning one would definitely be cool, and what a unique piece of movie memorabilia too
Although I’d want two, one to frame in a glass case and one to read over and over again lol
@tash, SPM– i would figure the actors/crew mark or write notes on the script, rather than the books… though if they do own physical copies of the books, they’d probably be signed by collins either way, and would be worth a heck of a lot of money.

@Tash, SPM, and carla: I do some acting myself and felt the need to post this after reading your comments. Every time, and I do mean EVERY TIME I get a script, I find myself chewing on the edges. I have one that looks as though a paper shredder got ahold of it!! So, just a thought: these scripts you want may be kinda nasty-looking by the time the actors are through with them!
Not to change the subject, but did anyone see the alleged photo of an audition script for catching fire. Dont know if its real or not but it would be really cool if it was because it has Bonnie and Twill in it!

@Tash Oh ya I remember, well the picture shows a full conversation with Katniss and Bonnie and Twill when they first meet and mention the Uprising. It seems legit. But I guess anyone can just type it up themselves, so who knows.
@nightlock and tash- yeah, I saw the photo of the page also. It’s really strange because along with Bonnie and Twill it seems there are two boys with them. And also they say they are from district 3 which is weird. I don’t know if I like it or not. I feel like they changed things that really seemed that they didn’t need changing. But they probably have their reasons. Heck, we don’t even know if it’s real or not.
@rory mellark ya and whats also interesting is the page behind it that say “Sisterhood of the night” which I looked up and it appears to be a movie coming out this year. Which has nothing to do with catching fire but maybe through the same company that holds the auditions for both movies. But again who know. haha
@nightlock, rory mellark – I’ll definitely be going searching for this when I get home from work tonight then, you’ve really peaked my curiosity! Although from some of the things you’ve mentioned above it doesn’t sound overly legit *shrugs*

@Tash oh ya I take that back about it being legit now. Since I have never seen an audition script before haha. But still really interested in it though. I dont know if anyone else has seen an official audition script before to compare it to this.
Have found the photo you’re talking about, I’m not sure how legitimate it is, just seems a bit strange. Like you both mentioned above, why would there be boys with them, and I don’t think they would change Bonnie and Twill to come from District 3 instead of District 8. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Bonnie and Twill are cast.

@THG_HP No, I don”t think so..If I remember correctly she is just described as having dark spiky hair. Naya Rivera? No, she cannot act to save her life…that’s why she’s on Glee.

@THG_HP – I always imagined that Johanna was attractive/pretty, but not “hot”. I think part of her guise with winning her games aside from acting weak is that she most likely wouldn’t have had stand out looks. So I think Jena fits the bill, she is not drop dead gorgeous and glamourous but she’s certainly not unattractive.
