Hunger Games Movie News

Back in June SyFy’s Hollywood Treasures visited the Henry River Mill Village, site of District 12 in ‘The Hunger Games’, and also acquired the rights to auction the property. If you have at least a cool $1.2 million dollars, then bidding is now open through silent auction.
Also of note is that the current owner, Wade Shepherd, has said that no one from Lionsgate has yet been in touch about a possible return to the location.
You can read the rest of the article at Hickory Daily Record.

I wonder whoever wins the auction for district 12, what they will do with it. Hopefully they will take care of it for a long time
@nightlock – I hope so too
Surely they will. Inside the article it also said that there’s a guy who runs tours, and he has been coming back to pick up any litter left behind. I wish people wouldn’t do that, but at least someone cares about the place.
Noooooooooo!! What are they gonna use for the next movies???
wait wait wait… then what are they gonna use for the next movies???
Noooooo! I’ve been meaning to visit for over a year now (I only live about three hours away in NC)! Will this mean that it may not be open to the public?!
I have no clue all, hopefully we’ll find out who buys it soon and what they intend to do with it.
There’s no word yet on exactly where Catching Fire filming will take place, just lots of rumours, but it’s looking less and less likely they’ll be returning to North Carolina
I don’t think Lionsgate has to buy the property to be able to film onsite. All they have to do is ask for permission to use it, correct?
Precisely how long did it take u to create “Bidding Open on Henry River Mill Village”?
It carries a large amount of really good knowledge. With thanks -Bobby
