Casting Call for ‘The Idiom’ Shows Signs of ‘Catching Fire’

Thanks to some internet sleuthing by The Hob and Russ Bowen, it appears that the working title for ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ may be ‘The Idiom’, which is actually quite an amusing mask title for the movie. A casting notice on the website for Catrett Locke Casting in Georgia for a new feature film titled ‘The Idiom’ was posted last week and bears some startling resemblances to extras needed for Catching Fire.

We are seeking men, women and children. Model, Beautiful, Upscale, Political types. This will have a lot to do with the way you carry yourself. SEEKING VERY THIN TYPES-SEVERELY THIN

We are seeking men and women that are extremely thin. There are a couple of different looks we are trying to achieve so please read carefully and submit where you feel you fit the best.

Type 3 Pale/Ashen Skin and blk, very drk brown hair
Type 6/Part 1 Light brown/mousey brown hair, brown eyes or blueish/green/greyish eyes
Type 6/Part 2/very specific (we know there won’t be many but…) Extremely thin I mean thin/loose skin/yellowish skin tone
Type 8/Part 1 Brown hair, pale skin, hazel type eyes
Type 8/Part 2 Drk brn hair, darker skin, brown eyes
Type 11/Part 1 African American
Type 11/Part 2 Latin American/Hispanic types
Type 12/Part 1 Olive skin, gray eyes, black/drk brwn hair
Type 12/Part 2 Pale skin, blonde, blue eyes

Please put which type/part you are submitting for in the subject box. Please have pictures that show the thin body type you have. The better the pictures the better your chances. This is where minimal make-up is wanted. These people would not have the make-up piled on. We are really trying to sell this less fortunate look. This is open to children as well but please note if they are a minor in the subject box.

Matching up the “type” number to districts seems to make sense for districts they’d show. For example, Type 3 for District 3 since this is where Beetee and Wiress come from. Type 6 Part 2 seems to allude to them casting for people who look like morphling addicts. Type 8 could be for District 8, the Textiles District where Bonnie and Twill come from. Type 11 includes African American and Hispanic types, which could be District 11, which from the Panem map, we now know includes parts of Mexico. And who can mistake the differences between Type 12′s two parts with “olive skin, gray eyes, dark hair” and “pale skin, blonde hair, blue eyes”? The Seam and merchant class, anyone?

Another part that points to a Hunger Games sequel is their security warning.

[W]e will not allow cell phones on set or in holding. They need to be kept in the car or we will have a check in process where you can leave your phones with us and check the periodically. Anyone caught Tweeting or facebooking anything about what happens on set, at fittings, about locations or anything else will immediately be escorted off set and not be able to return.

And finally, the need for haircuts:

This film will require very specific looks. You will all need to be pre-fitted and most likely will receive haircuts depending on the role you are cast for. If you are not comfortable please do not submit. We will not be upset but we want to save us both our time.
