i don’t believe i’ve seen her in anything, but looking at her resume i can see she’s been in some films i know have been well-received by critics, so i’m all up for this! she absolutely looks the part, as far as i’m concerned. i like this.

an aside: i was really getting attached to the possibility of cicely tyson, i have to admit. maybe we can get her as seeder? that would be cool.

I loved the idea of Cicely Tyson, but Lynn Cohen is actually how I pictured Mags when I read the book. I think she’ll be excellent.

@carla – Brilliant suggestion for Cicely Tyson as Seeder, that would be so very cool. With all the casting so far, if that happened too, this would have to be the best ensemble cast ever.

I’m not familiar with Lynn Cohen’s work, but she does seem to look the right age for the part. I actually Googled her name to see if I could find out her real age, but I couldn’t.

As for whether Cicely Tyson might play Seeder; considering the apparent casting calls for African American and Hispanic extras for D11 scenes, I’m thinking that’s a sign that Seeder might wind up being played by a Hispanic actress. Though “Hispanic” is such a wide ethnic category that some people who consider themselves Hispanic don’t look that different from a standard “white-bread” Caucasian, and some are very dark-skinned. But maybe Lionsgate has already offered Seeder to a Hispanic actress?

@satsuma, re: hispanic people– thanks for making the distinction. there is immense ethnic variety in hispanic countries, and i get increasingly frustrated when the race issue pops up in fandom, especially when people seem to have a very ambiguous definition of what a “caucasian” or a “person of color” is and all of us hispanic people wind up thrown together into one “box.”

that said, i would love it if a latin-american actress (or even just an actress with latin-american roots) could get the role of seeder, regardless of what they look like. (or, ooh, maybe even cecelia! can’t forget about her, too). i just suggested cicely tyson because i’ve grown fond of her since the rumors about her came up, but if they choose to go in the hispanic direction, i’d be all up for that. always nice to have some variety.

If she could pull off a less ‘sly’ look like i see in the picture, perfecto! And im scared for Finnick, because signs point towards Sam Claflin, and i REALLY dont want that. No offense to him, i just dont see him as Finnick. Yeah, that didnt go here. Oops. But i trust Lionsgate.
