The Hunger Games DVD Bonus Features Screening
Over the weekend, Mockingjay.net got to join a handful of other The Hunger Games fansites at Lionsgate for an exclusive look at bonus features from the upcoming DVD release! The Lionsgate team really outdid themselves, and I think I can speak for all of us when I say we had a blast. Not only were the bonus features we saw great, but The Hunger Game’s Jackie Emerson even made an appearance to chat with all of us. Yes, she is as lovely as she seems.
There’s not much I can give away in regards to what the bonus features entail, but trust me when I say that you’ll definitely want to get your own copy as soon as it’s available. I know different stores will be releasing different bonus material, so that’s where it can get tricky. Target, Walmart, and iTunes all have different content to offer, and no matter what you choose, you can’t go wrong.
That said, Target is probably on the top of my list. Target offers the Tribute Video Diary, and the title alone should be enough to get you reserving your copy early. The tributes cast were given flip video recorders so they could capture all the fun they were having when the real cameras weren’t rolling. Based on the short clip I got to see, it’ll be worth every penny.
So if you have to pick and choose, go with Target. If you have extra quarters in your piggy bank, get a copy from all locations. You can never have too many DVDs of The Hunger Games, right?
The Hunger Games will be available on DVD and Blu-ray starting August 18th.

and yes, i agree that the target special edition sounds the best. the tribute diaries are exactly the kind of extras i want to see! i pre-ordered it the moment they announced it, and i’m sure it’ll be worth its weight in gold. i can’t wait! 
Still hoping for the bonus features that will reveal the location of Peeta’s character. Oh, wait…
OMG Beth, Peeta and Foxface in the same weekend! I wish they had Target up here (I hear rumors that they’re coming soon, just not soon enough). So it’s Walmart for now and maybe I’ll get the Target version from my US relatives for Christmas.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I was literally agonizing about which DVD I should buy. Target it is, then. I was wondering, do you guys have information about where midnight release parties are going to be? If not, where would you suggest that I look for that info? Thanks for all that you do!

Hey Beth sorry this comment is late but you suggested that we preorder it, right? And second target has a 3-disc deluxe blu-ray pack and then the regular blu-ray. Which one would you recommend??
