Josh Hutcherson Says Peeta Will Be in Better Shape for Catching Fire
In an interview with USA Today, Josh talked about Peeta having a more toned physical appearance this time-around:
“I’m getting in even better shape this time around,” Hutcherson tells USA TODAY about the film, which begins production next month… “After the games, Peeta would have been taking care of himself physically. And he’s gone back to the village and is able to eat healthy,” says Hutcherson. “So I’ve been training and getting ready for that.”
Though don’t expect to see a bodybuilder when Catching Fire hits screens on Nov. 22, 2013. “I’m keeping it in the realm of the first one,” says Hutcherson.
This could only be good news for Peetaphiles across the globe. Josh also talked about the Blu-ray and DVD release of The Hunger Games on August 18th:
“My grandparents are going to want me to sign a bunch of copies (for friends),” he says. “I’m really excited for it.”

I hope this means that the scene where Peeta trains Katniss and Haymitch will be included. I loved that scene.
That’s in keeping with the books too and how they train like Careers for the Quell.
Excited they are starting to gear up for this and that the actors are so excited too!

Yeah, seems Josh is hinting at that Career-training scene. Though I guess he’s learned not to give away too many CF secrets (*cough*Jena Malone *cough*)
Also, is it just me or does Josh’s hair look like a more darker, natural shade of blond in the picture for this article? I mean, compared to the basketball tournament pics where his hair seemed to be a lighter, almost neon shade. Is it just a different light source, or are they still tweaking the exact shade?
Satsuma: for the original movie, they went first super light and then applied darker shades till they got the exact blonde. I guess they are doing the same this time, it’s really hard to go from dark hair to blond.

Hmm, actually, the pic does seem to show Josh in a b-ball jersey, so I guess it is from the b-ball game, maybe his hair just looks darker because it was taken later in the day than the other pics I’ve seen? But thanks for the info Abel Toy! That makes sense, they probably have to bleach the natural color out of the hair first then add back artificial color.
They also need to fix his eyebrows. His eyebrows are still brown, Peeta’s eyebrows were a dirty blonde shade. That could also be what is throwing people off.

random, but my favorite part of this whole article is when he says he goes back to “the village.” because a. i keep forgetting they’ll be living in victor’s village now instead of the seam/the bakery, and b. the fact that josh remembers that while i keep forgetting about it is amazing because it tells me he really IS into the books, it’s not just PR.
re: the hair– they’re most likely still working on it. it’s a long process. chill, guys; of all the things we should be worrying about, i think peeta’s hair is hardly one of them. they know what they’re doing.

I love that he is so excited, he really is the best choice they could have made for Peeta, he’s passionate, true to the source material and really just embodies his character. I really hope too that they give him more to do this time around and we get lots of Peeta time (and lots of Katniss and Peeta time too)
