Official: Meta Golding Cast as Enobaria in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
Lionsgate has announced that former figure skater Meta Golding has been cast as District 2 Career Tribute Enobaria!
Santa Monica, CA, August 7, 2012- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE are pleased to announce that Meta Golding has been cast in the role of Enobaria in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel Catching Fire. A former career tribute from District 2, Enobaria is known for the particularly brutal, disturbing way in which she came to win The Hunger Games.

The daughter of an American United Nations food relief worker and a Haitian beauty queen, META GOLDING was raised in the United States, India, Haiti, France and Italy. After an injury sidelined her career as an Italian National Figure Skater, she brought her love of performance from the ice to the stage. Her ability to speak 3 languages and various other dialects made this transition come naturally. Meta started acting in Italian theatre before heading back to the United States to attend Cornell University, where she obtained degrees in Theatre Arts and International Relations. She was cast in ABC’s daytime drama “Loving” and the features “Louis and Frank,” “Kiss The Girls,” and “Surrogates.” Meta will next be seen in the independent film “The Chicago 8”.

I didn´t picture Enobaria as a beautiful woman, but that doesn´t mean she wasn´t LOL. Really looking forward to her make-up … and the scene in Mockingjay where all remaining tributes are gathered after the fall of Capitol and Johanna barks at Enobaria!
It’s scary how she looks exactly like I imagined Enobaria. Beautiful, with the exact same hair, and a slightly vicious look about her.
well, this is awkward. i imagined enobaria as a woman in her mid 30′s that wasn’t exactly attractive, but not downright ugly either…not a young supermodel. so i don’t like her being casted, but i guess we’ll have to wait till the movie comes out to see how her acting really is

Fairly old picture she still has up. She is in her ealy 30′s. Still attractive though.She will be a fine Enorbaria.

When they posted this announcement they didn’t really think about the picture of her that would please the fans the most. If I was judging off this picture, she is definitely too young and pretty, but when you look at pictures of her today, she looks spot on, so I’m happy.
I’m not getting the whole “she’s too pretty” thing. Where did Suzanne Collins ever describe Enobaria as ugly? Besides, she’s a Career and has been living in luxury for over a decade, you’d think that having Capitol surgeries for years would enable her to “pretty” herself up.
Thanks for the YouTube clip from Criminal Minds! The first scene where Agent Todd is a little snippy with Agent Prentiss does seem to give us a taste of how MG might approach Enobaria. Also agree with Ellen that the “glamour” pic they show is a little misleading, but if you watch the Dangerous Minds clip, or just Google her, I think you’ll get a better idea of what she’l look like in the movie. And I’m sure they WILL include the gold-plated pointy teeth!
as career tribute ,who are mostly volontere as to be pretty because,to get sponsor at the game is very important.enobaria won 62 hunger games at the age of 17, at the 3rd quelle she ‘s 30 ,meta is 32.
I, personally, think she looks kinda young in that picture. But if she can do the crazy career who ripped someone’s throat out, I’m good.
@Crystal, I think it’s probably the same mindset that made people think just because Hermione was described as having frizzy hair and big teeth in Harry Potter, that she must be ugly (whereas Emma Watson was certainly not ugly!) I never pictured Enobaria as ugly either, just very thuggish and mean.
Not at all what I pictured, what Enobaria might look like. But, after seeing her portfolio, I think I can see where the casting director is going. I’m looking forward to her interpretation of Enobaria.
