Those of you that were scratching your heads over the story that Amazon had announced that ‘The Hunger Games’ overtook the Harry Potter series on their bestseller lists can stop scratching. In a comment to Digital Book World, Amazon revealed that the increasingly popular e-book market is indeed the cause for the book’s insane popularity on their lists.

An Amazon spokesperson told Digital Book World that the Kindle versions of Hunger Games books outsold print versions by a ratio of nearly four to one (3.7 to one to be exact). So, for every print copy of the Hunger Games sold on Amazon, nearly four e-book copies were sold.

Since Harry Potter only came out for the Kindle this year, it now makes a lot more sense that The Hunger Games has outsold it.
