Prabal Gurung, Jennifer Lawrence’s real life Cinna and designer of the golden gown she wore at “The Hunger Games” premiere, won the Breakthrough Designer of the Year award last night at the Style Awards in New York City. FabSugar had the chance to talk to him, where he told them about how honored he was that Jennifer chose his dress when she had so many options to go with. You can watch the video after the break.

Personally I think it looks gaudy. No doubt it would have looked gorgeous as a fashion sketch, but real life people are not the long legged fairies that occupy such illustrations. Without the stylish exaggeration, it looks well….bad.

But eh, congrats to the guy and happy Jen got positive attention form it.

I thought the dress was absolutely beautiful and I think a lot of other people who saw the premiere photos thought the same. When I first saw it I was like “Ooh! Jennifer Lawrence’s on fire!” :D I thought it was georgeous and very suitable for The Hunger Games.
