Francis Lawrence Invites Fans to Enter to Win a Trip to ‘Catching Fire’ Set

I admit it’s a little scary not having heard anything from new director Francis Lawrence, but today Lionsgate posted a video of Francis Lawrence inviting fans to enter a sweepstakes to visit the set of Catching Fire in Atlanta, GA. So nice to see him sending a message out! 
To enter, head over to CatchingFireSweeps.com. Behind Francis, you can see blueprints of what are presumably Katniss’ Victor’s Village home!
i bet the contest is just for US residents, isn’t it. ¬_¬
meanwhile, francis lawrence just seems like such a nice guy. we haven’t heard much from him until now, but whenever we do get a little something, i just can’t help but feel that he seems so NICE. i like that. let’s hope it’s actually true and not just me being wrong about it.
@Carla– it looks like 2 US residents can win, 2 Canadian residents can win, and I’m not sure but there’s buttons across the top for Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Scandinavia, and UK.

@erin– oohhh, that’s interesting! (the site wasn’t letting me see the thing for a while there, so that’s good to know). i mean, i still can’t participate since i’m in neither of those places right now (maybe when i get to germany later this month… but no, i won’t really have time then either… or maybe i could? i mean, just trying wouldn’t hurt…), but it’s definitely nice to see them taking into account people from other countries for this. it was about time. maybe next time they could give latin america a shot, too.
It’s funny because a year ago, I made a Facebook account JUST to enter the contest to visit The Hunger Games set and now I’m using that same account to enter the Catching Fire trip.
I’m getting really emotional right now.
My country isn’t there. Oh well…

It doesn’t look like any of the links (other than US) seem to be working. Like the Canadian page sends you to the Alliance Films Facebook page to enter, but I can’t find anything about it on their page. Hopefully all the international stuff will be up and running soon!
Anybody else notice the blueprint of Katniss’ house on the wall behind him? Not much to see except the library and a note about the vestibule.
The Australian page doesn’t have any details either at the moment (Roadshow films), so I will keep an eye on it
@Will Brown – I did, I’m quite excited though because it shows that thought and planning has gone into even the ‘minor’ details.
Wow, people are allowed on set? That’s awesome! Gary Ross was really secretive with The Hunger Games, and Francis Lawrence really seems open about it. I can’t wait to see set pictures—I can’t wait to see the Victor’s Village homes!
@RebeccaB. There was a contest just like this one for The Hunger Games movie as well. I’ll agree that the project was really secretive, but Gary did allow some fans to visit.

What did he mean by district? I know what the term means, but what would be classified as one? Just your favorite district? Or your country? That was kind of confusing…
@Anonymous When you enter the contest, I think you need to enter your District ID card PIN, which comes from TheCapitol.PN event that went on last year. Since many new fans won’t know of that… will they be keeping the site more active?

Does anyone know what date it would be that you visit the set? I’d love to enter but it may be when I have exams.
@Pippa The rules and regulations say: “The Set Visit is currently anticipated to take place between November 7, 2012 and November 11, 2012″ but the dates are subject to change.

After you’ve pasted the web address, just remember to add the ‘www.’ in front. Sometimes you won’t be automatically redirected without that. Also, the site is technically a part of Facebook, so you would need to sign in with an existing FB account in order to gain access to the Sweepstakes page.
