Jennifer Lawrence Wows in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, Receiving a Multitude of Top Reviews

Is another Oscar nomination on the cards for our very own Katniss Everdeen? Apparently so, after dazzling critics with her performance in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. Fresh out of its premiere screening at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), critics are bursting with praise for not only the film, but for Jennifer’s performance. With one critic (Michael Schwartz) going as far to say, “I think by February we may be able to refer to Jennifer Lawrence as an Oscar winner”. High praise indeed!
Check out some of the other wonderful things being said about Jennifer’s performance in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ below…

Are you as excited for Jennifer as the staff of Mockingjay.net are? Does this make you more excited to see the film? Drop us a comment below.

Oh, God, this is awesome. I really hope she gets an Oscar nom – even better if she wins!
not surprised, the girl is a flawless actress.
hopefully this’ll be the one that gets her the oscar!
man, now i really wish i could see this movie. i’ll probably have to wait until it comes out on DVD, though…
Unpopular opinion: Personally, I wouldn’t want her to win an Oscar right away. Normally, winning an Oscar can be a death knell to your career since by default your going rate skyrockets. Most young actresses who win a Oscar fade into oblivion after. A nomination appears better than winning sometimes, specially for someone young.
I can’t wait to see this movie, it looks so good! Based on all of the good reviews it sounds like jlaw will be getting another nomination, I hope she does!
I’m so excited to watch this! I really like Bradley Cooper, and from the few scenes, he has explosive chemistry with Jennifer Lawrence. This girl is really something.
Agreed, I wouldn’t want her to win an Oscar right away. I think she is still quite young and has a very bright future. She is definitely here to stay, but right now, it might be too soon.
@anvilgate– haha, yeah, i do worry about that, too, but even then i could never root against her if she does get nominated.
especially if she really deserves it in comparison to the other nominees. she could be the exception to the rule, who knows?
Good for her. She’s nothing short of spectacular and deserves all the best. Like Gary Ross I truly believe an actress like Jen is once in a lifetime. You go Jen
@anvilgate, by the time Jennifer does the second part of Mockingjay, her price tag will probably be somewhere around $15 million. Oscars may make an actor more visible and valuable but they don’t necessarily jack up that person’s salary – it all depends on the projects they do. Most actresses post-Oscar disappear into obscurity because they chose stupid follow up projects, not because they demand too much money. Jennifer has pretty great taste in picking scripts so I don’t really know how much of an issue this is for her.
Just because an actor gets Oscar buzz is also no guarantee of a win. Comedies and scifi pics are notoriously overlooked by the Academy short of anomalies like the Lord of the Rings movies. I think it’s safe to say Jennifer could score a nom but she might not win. But even a nomination would be pretty great.
If Jennifer does get nominated, I can’t exactly root against her because she’s so brilliant. But can you imagine the hype (on top of the hype we ALREADY have) for the remaining movies if we have a 2-time Oscar nominee as the central character? If anything, I think if she doesn’t win, people will probably flock to see her in movies. It builds her up even more…
I mean, ya just gotta freain love her. I might see the movie just to see her
@AnvilGate – agreed. Jen’s been called the next Meryl Streep, and I think Streep’s long record of Oscar nominations speaks even more eloquently to her ability than her Oscar wins. Though if she did win, I also agree she’d continue to choose scripts very carefully and deliberately as she has done.
Heh, i actually wouldn’t mind her winning.
Just think of that acceptance speech!
Dang. THAT good? I mean I knew she was an Oscar-winning type actress but I didn’t think she would get one for this movie. Lol I have a feeling she really is going to be the next Meryl Streep.

I really want her to win an Oscar just so Hunger Games fans can say our star is “an Oscar winner.” What’s that? I don’t see that kind of praise for *cough cough* Twilight’s lead…
And it would be nice for Jennifer’s hard work and great acting skills to be fully acknowledged.
Hopefully by the time ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is released on DVD and Blu-ray the blurb on the back of the cover will be able say, ‘Katniss Everdeen (Oscar© Winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ and ‘Winter’s Bone) returns for an action-packed…etc. etc. etc.
Best of luck to her!
I’m shocked to read of talk of Oscars for Jennifer Lawrence. I thought she did well in The Hunger Games, but I honestly had never heard of her before then. I fell in love with THG last night after browsing through new releases on my Hopper’s Blockbuster @Home app. I watched it to find out all the buzz I’ve been hearing around the Dish call center where I work, and I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t doubt that Lawrence is going to get a lot of roles now that she’s become a household name, but I do think an Oscar victory will be much more savory if it has time to simmer.
