Aurum Producciones to Distribute ‘Hunger Games’ Films in Spain
According to Variety, Lionsgate has signed a deal with Alliance Films for their company Aurum Producciones to distribute Catching Fire and both parts of Mockingjay in Spain. The deal was announced in Toronto by Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer. Variety reports:
“We are delighted to extend Summit’s longstanding relationship with the team at Aurum to encompass both the Lionsgate and Summit brands in Spain,” said Lionsgate motion picture group co-chairs Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman.
“The combination of Lionsgate and Summit earlier this year allows us to bring a significantly expanded portfolio of product to our distribution partners around the world, enables us to achieve significant economies of scale and ensures even greater consistency and visibility in our global business.”
Aurum handled the release of Summit’s “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1″ in Spain, where it grossed more than $26 million at the box office and was the number one film in Spain last year.
