I loved Jen in this new movie. She was as always VERY believable. I really felt like I was there in the movie with her, scared with her. She is as always very strong in the role and I loved that about her, as I always do :) So to pick what I liked best? All of her, she is always superb to me.

    Thank you!

My favorite thing about her character is how she’s really smart, and I think it was an awesome movie.

  3.

My friend and I went to see this movie. there are MANY things to say! Fisrt off, Jennifer Lawerence and Max Theriot were AMAZING in this film! the movie itself didnt have anything different than the others but this is on my fav list. a lot of criticts gave this movie bad ratings, but heres what i have to say. Just because something isnt “New” dosen’t mean its bad! this movie was incredibly fun in theaters thanks to all of the teenagers screaming! We all had a great time!

  4.

Haven’t seen the movie because at my house we dont have time to watch the movies, but want to read it!!! :)

  5.

I like how Jennifer has incredible acting skills and shes very believable, you can feel what her character feels and only great actors can make you feel something when they act.

    Sounds like a good book.

I liked how she played a typical, average teenager with relatable concerns because so many of her other movie roles are very atypical characters: Katniss, Mystique, Ree. It’s nice to see her do something other than hunting squirrels or covered in blue paint.

I loved how Jen’s natural humor came out in Elissa- at times it was almost like, I bet Jen came up with that line herself. My favorite line was when she called her rude teen neighbor a… erm… butthole :)

I like all the scenes where she had to act scared (which was a lot of them) because she portrayed elissa very well in those scenes. It isnt easy to act scared, but jen nailed it and she is very believable!!! :)

I loved this movie! Both Jen and Max were great! I think Jen’s acting was best towards then end where Elissa is trapped in Ryan’s basement. She genuinely looked scared for her life. Also, when she burned her arm to get the rope off her wrist, you could see the excruciating pain on her face. This movie was a lot different from THG and it was nice seeing Jen portray a typical modern teenager like Elissa.

I can’t believe that the same actress is Katniss and Elissa. Jennifer Lawrence is amazing! I mean, she just filmed The Hunger Games, with the role of Katniss. With having the role of Katniss, she had to be fierce and brave. To portray that kind of character is a hard task. Then, seeing her come out as self-minded, and fearful, playing the role of Elissa. I kept picturing Katniss, the whole time. Wondering why she was so scared and had blonde hair, then reminding myself, THAT’S DEFINITELY NOT KATNISS! THAT’S ELISSA! Anyways, i love books, and would really like to add this to my collection along with The Hunger Games Trilogy and Tribute Guide, also the many other books I own.

    I like her hair.

    XD!

What I like most about about Jennifer Lawrence is that she can play any role and add her own spark making it her own. She makes me believe that she is really afraid, happy, sad, or freaked out. She makes the audience feel what she feels and makes it seem as if that we are right next to her in the film waiting for ryan to come and grab her or Kari ann torun after her. Jennifer Lawrence is the best actor of our generation.

    Olivia

I agree with all of you, she is one of the best actors of our generation and, being so young, has the potential for many more Oscars to come. The greatest part of HATES was her emotional control of the audience throughout the movie. I went on Saturday. We got some gasps, screams, “ooooooohh”s and even a “he’s right behind you, run!” reactions! The audience was fantastic and fed off her facial expressions, delivery and energy the whole time. That makes a great actress. Therefore, her best line was the one that reveals her epiphany at the same time as the audience’s: “Ryan, if Cary Ann died, then who is….?”

I think I really liked Jen’s performance in the movie. To be honest, going into the movie, I thought it was going to be a horror/thriller about the sister. The movie itself had a great storyline along with a phenomenal actress to make that story even better! I loved Jen’s acting and I think she was really able to get into the character, which helped shape the movie into a better story.

  16.

I love Jennifer in all the movies that she does she is a great actress and deserves all the good things that come her way. I would love to read this book before I see the movie.

I love that Jennifer Lawrence can make anyone believe she is that character, she is playing.

I like that in this movie, we get to see a new side of Jennifer and how she can portray a wide variety of characters, not just Katniss who is a spectacular heroine. Of course, all movies with Jen in then have a great actress in their hands!

    Chelsea

I didnt see the movie because I can’t stand scary movies. But what I like must about Jen taking on this role is that we get to see her as a different type of person. We aren’t seeing her hunt rabbits or squirrels, we see a little humor come out of her (I’m told by my mom who saw the movie) and a lot of fear. My mom said you could feel just how scared she was and she made you feel her frustration, fright and desperation. She made you feel like you were in the movie with her. Which doesn’t surprise me because that’s how I felt in THG. :)

I went to see this movie over the weekend, and It was my first scary movie ever. I really enjoyed it, and I think it had to do with Jennifer Lawrence’s portrayal of her character Elissa. Jennifer brought a certain realism to the character that I feel would have been lost with any other actress. She wasn’t just that cliche, girl-next-door

I went and saw the movie the friday it came out and loved it. Jennifer Lawerence just always brings this awesome bad-ass vibe to her role; cool, and confident in whatever she does. She has a very strong persona about her in the movie and it makes her seem so tough, and believable in her role. I can’t imagine any one else playing the character, Jennifer did a fantastic job.

  22.
    Angela

Both movies were really good. Although, they had that same amazing actress in them. You could really see the difference between the two characters. How did Jennifer Lawrence pull it off?

    Michelle R.

I’m looking forward to seeing it, Jennifer Lawrence is turning out to be a very versatile actress whom I’m very fond of.

  24.

I love that Jennifer Lawrence is that she such a great actress in a scary movie. And,the Hunger Games.

  25.
    Ann

I like the way Jennifer Lawrence portrayed a real emotion of fright. She does such a great job with movie like this and she is also good at being tough! :)

    Anonandon

Jen was unsurprisingly amazing. She came across as a bitter teenage girl that genuinely wanted to help Ryan. She brings something of her own to each of her characters. If any other actress where cast, I highly doubt I would’ve enjoyed it so much.
The plot twist was the freakiest thing ever. Daaaang.
The feels. They were all over the place with this movie.

  27.
    Maddie

Jen is an amazing actress and what I love about her and Max is that they bring their characters alive onscreen. You really feel their pain, their terror. She puts so much emotion into what she does and that’s what I love about her. :)

  28.
    Angel

I really just love that its her in the movie. The first movie I even saw with her was the Hunger Games, but just from the broad range of emotions she showed in the film and the glimpses from the trailer, I have no doubt she’ll do amazing in this movie as well.

WARNING THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!!WARNING THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!!WARNING THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!!WARNING THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!!

I saw it on the opening and I honestly hate the clichés that horror movies have. But for some reason, this movie tried to to be different. And I liked it. There was no ghost, demon, or anything after her; (SPOILER ALERT) but rather a girl who doesn’t know why this guy has locked her in her basement and calling her CarryAnne and doesn’t let hr leave. The movie fools you into believing that its his brain damaged sister when in fact she died and he dresses up girls as CarryAnne (his sister) an he tried to get JenLaw to be one. But then the unusual thing is its because in the end we figure out that when his sister died, his parents dressed him up as her and telling everyone it was her while Ryan (Max Theriot) was at “camp”.

So I kind of liked the whole thing except where JenLaw tripped while running away for no apparent reason at all. Good thing this was before winters bone because critics hate it.

I have note seen HATES yet, but i would really like to. I love how great of an actor jen is, and the emotion she puts into her work. Not everyone can do that. And that she was perfectly fine with doing indes for the rest of her life. She isnt a desperate actor who goes and bothers people about every role.

  31.
    J

I like that Jennifer is believable of acting chary and agile. Most young actors act very forced while Jennifer is natural in her emotions.

    Sam

I only saw the movie because of Jennifer and I am currently laying in bed scared to death with the light on at 4:30am because I can’t stop thinking about it! But Jen was great and beautiful as always and I’m really loving seeing her in different roles!

  33.
    Lauren L

Jen is so emotional in her roles. Every character she plays is so convincing and just full of raw emotion. Even non-realistic characters like Mystique in X-Men, or complex characters like Katniss. In a horror movie like House At the End of the Street, to be convincing is crucial. If your not a convincing character, the movie isn’t credible. Overall, that is what Jen brought to the movie is her raw power and emotion. She carried that movie on her shoulders.

  34.
    chloe

i think jenn did an excellent job portraying Elissa. She had a lot of emotion, which made the movie more interesting.Plus, if she didnt make it look like she was gonna pee herself during the movie, then no one would believe that her character is scared. She also made it very convincable that she loved Ryan, even after he tried to keep her hostage, when she was kissing him, and when she started to tear when she looked at the tree with the face. She does this in all of her movies. And the fact thats shes so funny and goofy in real life and she can be all serious and frightened on screen is amazing.

  35.

I love Jennifer Laurence, no matter what movie she is in. She is such a good actor and a really fun person, based on what I have seen in interviews she has done. I haven’t seen the House on the End of the Street yet because I don’t really like scary movies and I have a very imaginative mind that works even while I sleep (nightmares). I think it would be interesting as a book, though, I believe I will look into it.

    Anessa

Just saw the movie today! But, i have to say that it wasn’t the best. :( It was kind of confusing. I mean Elissa and her mom come to town, there’s a weird boy next door, people are mean to him, his sister was crazy, or so we thought. I don’t want to give away too many spoilers. Katniss and Elissa are alike because when Elissa was tied up, she did everything she could to escape. She burned herself with a lamp. That is definetley, something Katniss would have done, don’t you think? The movie wasn’t as scary as the trailer. I hate when they do that! I really do think that Jennifer Lawrence she keep her hair brown, it doesn’t look go blonde! No offense, Jenn! If Katniss saw a sleeping bag in the forest she would track it, not ignore it, like Elissa did. I also don’t think that Katniss would send all the house calls to her phone, that was stupid. I also don’t see Katniss wandering around some weird guys house after she found tampons and contacts in his trash. It wasn’t the best scary movie, and The Hunger Games was so better. I’m hoping the book will explain more, because I’m confused. Anyways, Jenn is the best (with brown hair)!

    who won?

Okay, are you gonna tell us who won or not? I mean I want to know. Seriously, or I’m gonna drop this site. I mean seriously, it’s agravating, so if we don’t hear soon about either contest I’m not coming back, so thanks. Not meaning to be rude, I’m just impatient.
