James Newton Howard Returning to Score ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’

Hunger Games fans can breathe a sigh of relief, with the welcome news that James Newton Howard will be returning to score ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’! FilmMusicReporter.com writes:
James Newton Howard has confirmed in a recent interview with Filmmusicsite.com, Underscores.fr and BSO Spirit at last weekend’s Ghent Film Festival that he is attached to score the upcoming The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire. The composer has scored this year’s first part in the series and has also written the music for the sequel’s director Francis Lawrence’s previous two features I Am Legend and Water for Elephants.
I personally am very excited about this news and I’m sure I won’t be alone! It’s also interesting to note that James has worked with Francis Lawrence before.

Yeah!Great, great, great! I was waiting for him! I loved the local sounds of the Hunger Games OST, and he has such great soundtracks! I hope he can make a more epic sound this time, or sweet moments for romantic scenes, because he’s a master (I think the ‘love’ themes in Batman Begins were his).
Big, big sigh of relief. I’m so glad

Oh, thank you, world.
YAY!!!
I never really cared about scores but this one was soooooooooo good! My favorite one came multiple times. It wa at the part rue died and At the end during the victory tour at district 12/katniss peeta talking on the train at the end. I love that sing soooo much! Glad he back
YES! I’m so happy, I’ve been waiting to hear this. I loved his score of The Hunger Games and his other work as well. He’s a wonderful composer. I hope he scores the whole series.
I’m so happy! I loved the score, it has an amazing feel to it, very down to earth, but it’s also epic when it needs to. The Mockingjay theme (well, at least I think it refers to Katniss becoming the Mockingjay) makes me cry every time!
Oh darn, the score was not even close to as good as it could of been, hopefully they have a clear theme this time around.
