Elizabeth Banks On Hallowe’en Costumes

With less than a week left until All Hallows Eve, Elizabeth Banks has given some handy suggestions for TV and Film inspired costumes. After all, as the actress says “Halloween is the day that you get to be anyone you want and be as creative as you can be…” With that in mind Elizabeth has (of course) included characters from The Hunger Games:
Katniss & Peeta
This one is a great couples costume, or could also work split up. For Katniss, do your hair in a side dutch braid. Grab some olive cargo pants, a black v-neck tee, a windbreaker, black or brown calf-high leather boots, and a backpack (preferably orange). For Peeta, just a black tee, green cargo pants, and a dirty face will do the trick. Carry a loaf of bread if you’re going sans a Katniss.
…
Effie
Last, but certainly not least, Effie. You can get your Capital fashion on by starting with some heavy-duty fair foundation and create the sandpaper effect. Get a short and curly pink or blonde wig and volumnize it to max capacity and clip a giant flower in front. Find a puffy-shouldered jacket online or the thrift/vintage store and pair it with a tight matching dress. Wear the tallest heel’s you’ve got and rock some crazy Effie nail art. Voila!
If you’re considering dressing up as a Hunger Games character why not enter Mockingjay.net’s Halloween Costume Contest for some pretty cool prizes. Who are you dressing up as this year?

“carry a loaf of bread if you’re going sans a katniss.”
…LMAO, i love her.
Ciara…I know you’re from the UK, but it is spelled Halloween.
All Hallows Eve shortened is Hallowe’en. Call me old fashioned but one grew up learning the Queen’s English and seeing as it came first one shan’t be changing one’s ways (I love talking posh, I might do it for the rest of the day now!)
God save the Queen!
