Lenny Kravitz: “You Will See How [Cinna] Leaves” In Catching Fire
Lenny Kravitz performed yesterday at halftime between the New England Patriots v New York Jets game. Before he took the stage, he spoke to Vulture about being a Jets fan and playing catch with Joe Namath when he was young. Lenny also talked about his crush on Jane Fonda and future acting projects including The Butler and London: The Modern Babylon, Absolute Beginners. Of course, there’s one acting job of Mr. Kravitz we’re most definitely interested in – Cinna! If you haven’t finished Catching Fire (you’re a Mockingjay.net reader who hasn’t read Catching Fire?!) then I suggest you refrain from reading on:
Meanwhile, how has being in The Hunger Games affected your fan base?
Um, well, I have eight-year-old kids coming up to me who know me as Cinna and have no idea that I make music.SPOILER ALERT, IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE HUNGER GAMES: The book mentions your character being tortured for supporting Katniss. Will we see that on screen?
Um, I can’t say too much about it. But you will see how he leaves the story.Personally, what do you think is the worst way to be tortured?
Oh wow — there’s trivial torture, and there’s real torture. I guess on a trivial level, you know, not being able to hear or make music. That would drive me crazy, yeah.

AAAAHHH I can’t wait! One more year!
Well that will be one emotional scene for sure.
The start of the 75th games will be intense before the tributes even enter the tubes!
That’s gonna be really emotional to watch…I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
I get mini heart attacks just thinking about it
When i read the part were Cinna is killed in catching fire I was so sad Cinna is one of favorite charters in HUNGER GAMES!!!!
I still remember the shock of that scene. I could barely register what had just happened. I guess he’s basically just hinting that we won’t see the actual torture but we will get to see him get beat up by peacekeepers.
8-year-old kids are watching the Hunger Games???
There’s a reason it’s rated PG-13! emphasis on 13!!! lol, there are times i wish my sister was older than 10, because she’s missing all the excitement!
anyway, yeah, I was in shock when I read the part about cinna being tortured. pretty much cried. that will be one emotional scene. prepare to have a box of tissues.
Between Cinna’s death and Peeta being captured by the Capitol-(and also Peeta’s emotions regarding Katniss’ feelings for him)–the entire movie should be one emotional rollercoaster. My daughter and I have vowed to share a box of tissues!
Knowing this will give me a year to prepare myself for that scene. It’s going to be such an emotional and terrible scene to watch.
Eh, what’s wrong with 8 year old kid watching the movie? Parents or older sibling will explain what happen in the movie right, no way they watch it alone.
That. Will. Be. Emotional. Scene. For sure, yes.
Just brief moment. We talk about Cinna here, Katniss’ first friend from Capitol.
Cmiiw, Cinna and other stylists considered as Capitol citizen right?
@Anonmyous. Because I think the movie is a little too violent for an 8-year-old. There’s a reason it’s suggested for kids 13 and older. 11, 12, fine. But 8? I say no way.
I cannot wait! This is going to be so emotional. With Cinna’s death, peeta being captured by the capitol.. I’m going to be crying so much! -SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN’T READ MOCKINGJAY- just think about prim’s death in Mockingjay
I’m going to be crying my eyes out! Ugh, so excited, i can’t wait much longer!
Oh wow, I knew this scene would be in there, but I never thought about it fully until now. I really hope someone I knew is sitting beside me… it will be awkward clinging to a stranger’s neck and bawling….
Whaaaaaaaat??? He makes music?
Well, he is Lenny friggin’ Kravitz, you know.
Have you heard about Grammy?
