Miranda Lambert Channels Katniss and Hunts for Thanksgiving Dinner
Here’s something that might put a smile on your face on a slow news day. Country artist Miranda Lambert has never made it a secret that she’s a huge fan of The Hunger Games trilogy, even recording a song, “Run Daddy Run,” for the first movie’s companion album.
Well, during this recent holiday week she set out to channel Katniss and headed out to the woods, bow and arrows at the ready, to hunt for Thanksgiving dinner along with her husband, fellow country artist Blake Shelton. She tweeted about the experience, including the hashtag #KatnissForever.
What do you think of Miranda’s outdoor adventure? Has The Hunger Games inspired your hobbies in any way, such as archery or baking? Comment and let us know!

I think Miranda it’s a very big fan of the series, just like me… Well, now I practice Archery….
Yes, I love Katniss. Deal with it XDD
I’m inspired about her personality and abilities, so yes, I’ll like to hunt anything on a forest.
(And before The Hunger Games, I still liked the idea of stay in a camping on a forest)
I love archery! and Camping!
Yes. I was reading a lot of ‘Career-centric’ fanfic over the summer, and decided to take up fencing. Now, I am not built like the average CReer at all; Im 5’2″ with hardly any muscle tone or athletic ability. But I have to say, it is so much fun, and I absolutely love it.
Well, much as I love Katniss and THG, I’m a vegeterian and hunting is absolutely out of the question for me… At least unless there’s an apocalypse and I have to kill animals for food as an only way to feed myself and my loved ones. :p
@Ivana, I’m not a vegetarian but I agree. I’m not in to hunting animals… until the apocalypse
It’s not safe to go out into the woods in complete camouflage during hunting season. She should at least be wearing a bright colored hat or something so she’s not mistaken for an animal.
@ivana– i agree as well. it takes a particular caliber of person to be able to hunt. i’m not a vegetarian either, but i don’t think i could, unless it was a last resort. but it’s nice to see the trilogy inspiring people to go out and do something they love.
Yeah, I don’t like the idea of killing animals but I do love target archery! I have my own bow and I go to the range once in a while. I also made bread from scratch last New Year’s Eve and am planning on doing it agin this year.
@rory mellark I won’t hunt annimals for sport, only if I have to eat something xD
I’m a big fan of Miranda and love that she’s a sportswoman. Wild hogs are a huge environmental problem so it’s good to hunt them.
