The Hunger Games Trilogy Dominates Web Searches and Trends for 2012

Those of us in The Hunger Games fandom already know how wonderful the trilogy is, but 2012 was the year that really boosted its fame as well as being a huge year of success for the franchise.
So it is probably no surprise that The Hunger Games came in at #1 in searches and sales at some of the biggest sites on the web. ‘The Hunger Games’ was the #1 searched movie of 2012 on both Google and Yahoo! and it was also the top seller on iTunes.
Facebook was also a popular place for the trilogy, with ‘The Hunger Games’ again claiming the mantle for the most movies searches as well as taking out spots 1, 2 and 3 for book searches for The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay respectively.
Whilst some figures are based on US only totals, the world certainly was watching! With ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1′ and ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2′ to come I’m sure THG will be right up there in the searches and trends of a few years to come
