Those of us in The Hunger Games fandom already know how wonderful the trilogy is, but 2012 was the year that really boosted its fame as well as being a huge year of success for the franchise.

So it is probably no surprise that The Hunger Games came in at #1 in searches and sales at some of the biggest sites on the web. ‘The Hunger Games’ was the #1 searched movie of 2012 on both Google and Yahoo! and it was also the top seller on iTunes.

Facebook was also a popular place for the trilogy, with ‘The Hunger Games’ again claiming the mantle for the most movies searches as well as taking out spots 1, 2 and 3 for book searches for The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay respectively.

Whilst some figures are based on US only totals, the world certainly was watching! With ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1′ and ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2′ to come I’m sure THG will be right up there in the searches and trends of a few years to come :)
